i love clicket |
Re: ashes 2009
my boss sauntered into the office at ten to 11, fixed me with an ice cold stare and barked 'if you think i'm paying you to spend this summer, pretending to work while hiding your headphones under your shirtsleevs listening to test match special you've got another thing coming'.
i looked sheepish until i heard his door shut to which i replied 'i'm guessing he's not heard about skyplayer yet, mwhahahah!' |
Re: ashes 2009
first innings, 414 all out - tail wagged nicely....
|
Re: ashes 2009
414 - not bad. Hope it's good enough, though.
We need some rain. That'll put the Aussies off! :D |

More concerned about the batting, we got lucky with the Prior/Freddie partnership, but can we expect that in every test? |
Re: ashes 2009
the only memorable thing for me was ponting's face at the end..........
sucking a lemon or what?:D:D |
Re: ashes 2009
one-nil to the engerland!
fair play freddie - if that's your last test match, then what a way to go! |
Re: ashes 2009
It struck me as a newcomer to the whole cricket stuff that living close to the Lord's Ground would have the collateral issues caused by a herd of khaki trousered, red and yellow stripped tie wearing assholes being proper ASBO's and disturbing my beloved missus' (and other neighbours) rest last night.
Not my cup of tea. |
Re: ashes 2009
was getting frustrated yesterday with the aussies holding out. thought we were gonna throw this one away. but freddie to the rescue! he bowled well yesterday but more than anyone and so i think he was a bit tired at the end. full throttle today tho!

Re: ashes 2009
still feel we're vulnerable if and when he and kp prove too unfit to continue. freddie might play through the pain; but i think pietersen's injury's affecting his form too much to risk...

Re: ashes 2009
Nice work from Freddie...and Swann.
Good to go one up in the series too. Will Brett be their saviour in the next test? I'm not convinced with the batting lineup either, time for Bopara to step up. I still think Broad/Anderson will click, hopefully sooner rather than later. Hats off to Michael Clarke, inspired stuff, as Atherton said to Warne yesterday, will he be captain at the end of this series? Time will tell. |
Re: ashes 2009
i reckon get harmy in for onions - the aussies don't appear to be liking it up 'em for now (clarke apart) not sure brett's the man for them either - he'll be short of pace, and as the great sage boycs says: "lee goes for lots of runs in england"
|
Re: ashes 2009
was at lords on Monday, and while the atmosphere was good i was surprised how quiet it was compared to grounds like old trafford.
shame kp's out of the series, especially with the sherminator lined up as his replacement |
