Moment of Silence - Rtsrtrade

See you later - rtsrboardoftrade

Yes, yahoo groups is closing down that part of it. I think messages can still be posted,
but all files etc are being deleted by Dec 14th.

Well, it was a great group, for trades, and getting shows.
Long since obsolete, but it was my main source for a long long time.

It was the second yahoo groups, after the first closed down.

Lots of good times there.

I don't think the messages were archived, so farewell to that.

It would also be nice, if there was a way to scrape the messages.
I have archives of the dirtylist from 2001-2005, and the digests
from 2001-2012 up there, and they would have to be downloaded
one at a time i think. .. ugh.

We have been working on a solution. Your moment of silence is appreciated.

There is a way to get your own messages,
if you can figure out how to get the entire group you moderate, let me know.
I have a ton of the dirtylist archives, and messages in my own group.

here's how you get your own:

Raj, do you have any archives besides the two Yahoo Groups: DIRTYLIST_ and dirtylist_archive? I'm members of both of those already.

Using the provided Yahoo tool, I was able to download the entire message archives for those 2 groups, as well as rtsrboardoftrade and rtsr-trade. They were provided as mbox files, so I'm looking into importing that format into the forums. I'm going to see if I can make it work before the 14th, so I can avoid having to pay for PG Offline to get it into a database.

Just go to:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/getmydata

and initiate a request there. It'll take a day or two to process the request, but then you'll be able to revisit that page and download the entire message and files archives for all the groups that you're a member of, not just your own messages.

and did not include any of the ones that i started.

That's weird. It did it for all of the groups that I'm a member of, none of which I started, and only one of which I'm an "owner" of. I got full message archives and all the files and links in the groups.

Re: Moment of Silence - Rtsrtrade

Still haven't gotten any mails about the archive,
or any kind of download.

Hope they still have a copy somewhere.

As a mod of both RTSR groups i have the copies that Yahoo allowed me to get. I wonder if there are missing posts tho.

Re: Moment of Silence - Rtsrtrade

ok, it looks like i was able to get a copy of all my groups,
messages, etc.

the message was sent to my yahoo mail address, which i never use.

i'll sort through the underworld ones,
and post a zip of those. if you want to compare or check them out.

they extended the deadline for requests until jan 31, 2020 if people
need more time.

Re: Moment of Silence - Rtsrtrade

I appreciate all that were involved with the yahoo rtsr group. End of an era.

I'm dating myself, but the old FTP site kept me busy and satisfied circa 2002-2007-ish. After that, as setlists became more static (excepting the excellent and varied Live Here Now series), i'd occasionally hit up the bittorrent tracker, but wasn't too engaged. Tried to share when i could, but i guess i had most of the gigs from the FTP already.

Anyway, a real golden age of bootlegging!
