has anyone else noticed that it sounds like Trent & Co. are kinda doing what Massive Attack did for 100th Window?

I mean - where MA sampled themselves for some tracks... and it seems that some elements of the new, leaked songs off NIN's album seem to be doing the same...

like - I heard the radio-rip of (forget track name - it was played on KROQ & I can't find the download link - sorry) and it seemed to sample the cover version of "Metal" off of "Things Falling Apart"

"Me, I'm Not" seems to have some of the percussion elements off of "Erasure" and I think that the intro to Survivalism seems to be a slightly distorted sample of the bassline from "the Hand that Feeds"

A MA familiarity is the first thing that struck me when I heard the first new leaked tracks too.

yea - although the one place where I got it... apparently it's not a 'proper' rip

I guess at least one or two tracks are transcodes.

but honestly - I don't reeeeallly care, as I'm definitely going to be buying it, as it's even being released on my birthday!

the last album that I can think of that also came out on my b-day was 100th Window, and that was a nice present
(unless I'm confusing dates)

'beginning of the end' is all weirded out, but the rest is in pretty good quality. i think some transcode business happened, but not too severe. probably from 160 to 320.

and yeah, it's pretty much how i remembered it. decent amount of fun. could be pretty damn good if i listen to it enough.

and anyway i already paid for pre-order.

Nothing like remoting into my home PC from work to cue up the download so I can drop it onto my ipod when I go home on lunch in about five minutes.

Back at work now listening. Pretty enjoyable. I hear that sample from Eraser too in Me, I'm not.

but i think that with teeth was a good stepping stone to this
but this is what with teeth should have been.
