i just finished my dissertation, so with time on my hands and less stress on my mind, i'm getting back into music-making. Definitely got the "summer" vibe, and will have the track in on-time!

Q: are we still considering mixing the tracks or leaving them separate? Or too early to tell? If yes, it'll mean adding a lead-in/fade-out beat for mine...

Cheers!

Well, it's not an if-if situation. We are releasing the tracks seperate, that's for sure. It depends on Professor if he still feels like doing a mix.

Exactly one week left.

I need some time to really finish my track, but I can make the deadline.

It is kind of a minimalistic track with one big synthline, and some detailed thingys. I hope the big synthline will "move" (not really the right word I think) people. It really grabs me though I'm affraid people will find it boring. Still I myself really like it, and I trust in myself :) Hope you will all like it.
The track should be turned up loud so you can hear it sparkle. And to feel the phat bassline on it.

Just thought I'd say that.

you can all check out a preview of my track here: http://www.sputnikkproductions.com/a...rty_Summer.mp3

i'm not quite done with it yet but it's coming along pretty well. It's not my usual style really, but it's very laid back and cheerful and I think it captures the spirit of sitting in the sun, relaxing, looking at the clouds passing by :)

Boy am I going to limp across the finish line, lol... I've had issues flare up with my softsynths, the singer that I wanted to sing on the track was impossible to book until this past weekend and when we sat down to work she had allergies and sounded HORRIBLE. Also, I need to add some drum fills and maybe another instrument or two. And for the sake of finishing the track, I'm likely going to have to sing on it and it was written for a female in mind. Now mind you, my range more than covers the duties but its the principle that I don't want to have to sing a female's vocal track, lol...

We'll see where we're at by Friday, I guess.

Mine's in...sent to Professor yesterday. It was 6:14 in length...is that okay, or does it need edited to under 6 minutes? (wasn't sure what we decided about a time limit...8 or 6 min or what!)

That's good.

My tune's under 5 minutes now anyway, so.

And mines only like 3:30-something, so the extra :14 shouldn't kill anyone.

Attention:

Professor's doing the trackhosting, but no webdesigning.
I'd like you guys to make a (not too long) bio and a picture of yourself or logo or whatever, so that when someone has actually put up a webpage, we can upload those too.
