Both of the Hartnoll brothers from Orbital have their own albums coming out this year. Phil Hartnoll and Nick Smith will be releasing Madness and Me under the guise of Longrange, and Paul Hartnoll's finished off a solo album too, according to Loopz.

Quick observations:

New LCD is roughly equivalent to their first full length: it's okay but they obviously crush much harder on 12"s.

The new !!! is shockingly good. If killing Out Hud was necessary to get us this record, REST IN PEACE.

The new Air is shockingly boring. Guess we'll never get another 10,000hz Legend.

Not quite sure what to make of the new Menomena yet. Songwriting is pretty good but it feels as though the elements that made their debut so fun are now missing in favor of song craft.

The new Arcade FIre single feels... meh. It's definitely The Arcade FIre sound but it's lacking energy.

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for new Khonnor for about 6 months now. I can't wait. His last record is quite possibly my favourite album ever.

There's a new Sleepy Town Manufacture record available to download from http://www.sutemos.net/en/player;gid,17 and new Bloc Party and Arcade Fire is pretty exciting.

That seems to be the general opinion but man, as not so guilty pleasure I'd take that record any day over the rest of their collected work.

i know. this discussion has been going on and off since it's been released in 2001 (?). i still can't get into it. i'm trying every year....it doesn't get any better.

(mind you, i think the new one is pretty neat) :)

10.000 Hz Legend isn't better than Moon Safari, it's just different. Both are amazing pieces though!

i heard "all my heroes are weirdos", "yadnus" and "must be the moon" as live versions from 2005...and they rocked a million times harder live. so the album was a bit disappointing if i must be honest....it'll definitely grow on me...
