Re: Favourite song of the day

Tropical summer, balmy day
Sit around you haven't much to say
'Cos the heat is on,
The heat is on.

You know you're in the hands of fate
Now you've gone and found me you appreciate
That the heat is on,
The heat is on.

You're on the road to Mandalay
Never gonna make it try another day
'Cos the heat is on,
The heat is on.

Temperature is rising to fever pitch
Sun is getting closer we all get rich
'Cos the heat is on,
The heat is on.

Hot pants and feet
Can't believe the madness sure feels sweet
The heat is on,
Heat is on.

Sun sun sun dazzle,
Sun sun sun dazzle,
Go wild, gonna rattle
When the heat is on.

Tropical Summer balmy day
Don't say much, ain't much to say
'Cos the heat is on,
The heat is on.

The heat is on, the heat is on,
The heat is on, the heat is on.

Hot pants and feet
Sure be sweet
The heat is on,
Daddy yeah...the heat is on.

Tropical Summer balmy day...
The heat is on...
You're on the road to Mandalay
Never gonna make it try another day
The heat is on,
Temperature is rising to fever pitch....

...on the way home I was listening to Radio Vinyl:

Amii Steward - Knock On Wood
Barry White - Let The Music Play
Alannah Myles - Black Velvet
and the like

"Every word of every song that he sang was for you
In a flash he was gone, it happened so soon, what could
you do?
Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please ... "

(her voice is awesome:))

Neon lights, shimmering neon lights, and at the fall of night, this city's made of light

The instrumental part that starts at 3:30 and goes the whole song is downright amazing

There are few songs that can make me feel the real rush time after time, like the Born Slippy Jam, and I never thought I could be a true MJ fan but I think I like this one too...

MJ and 3T - Why

Why does monday, come before tuesday
Why do summers start in june
Why do winters come too soon
Why do people fall in love
When they're always breaking up, oh why
Why do we love if love will die

Why does wednesday come after tuesday
Why do flowers come in may
Why springtime go away
Why do people fall in love
When they're always breaking up, oh why
Why do I love you tell me why

I really didn´t want to record anything anymore but I just had to show you how magical it was driving in -20 degrees this morning.
"Time to give time respect, turn up the heater, turn on the radio & enjoy the view." :)

The song is Eric Gadd - Walking On Water from his latest album Rise Up!
Eric is one of the best we have in town.

Re: Favourite song of the day

It must have been during late 1970´s when they came to my hometown Miskolc in Hungary for a TV recording.
It was arranged at the sports centre with the only skating-rink in town where I spent every evening after school during the winter seasons.
Me and some other regular kids were asked to dress up and skating in the background and someone said we should dress up as a worm. It was one kid at the front and the others under a light green blanket, that I took with me from home, so you could only see our legs. I think I was the last pair of legs or something, I don´t remember. I still have their card with an autograph from this event :)

Not a "world-famous-10/10" band but their musical versatility throughout the years is quite interesting.

Fonográf - Mondd, hogy nem haragszol rám (Say, you are not angry with me)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6lRq...eature=related

Fonográf - Vihar elött (Before the storm)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bjoz0jLb8xc

Fonográf - Az első villamos (The first tram)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqUKb...eature=related
the lyrics starts like:

only a few stars are living
newspapers´ blowing in the wind
and the station awake
and wait, once again wait...

Re: Favourite song of the day

I wanted to be with you alone and talk about the weather
But traditions I can trace against the child in your face
Won't escape my attention
You keep your distance with a system of touch
and gentle persuasion
I'm lost in admiration, could I need you this much
Oh, you're wasting my time, you're just, just, just wasting time

Something happens and I'm head over heels
I never find out till I'm head over heels
Something happens and I'm head over heels
Ah, don't take my heart, don't break my heart
Don't, don't, don't throw it away

I made a fire and watching it burn
Thought of your future
With one foot in the past now just how long will it last
No, no, no, have you no ambitions, oh (What's the matter with...)
My mother and my brothers used to breathing clean air
(Nothing ever changes when you're acting your age)
And dreaming I'm a doctor
(Nothing gets done when you feel like a baby)
It's hard to be man when there's a gun in your hand.
(Nothing ever changes when you're acting your age)
Oh, I feel so…

Something happens and I'm head over heels
I never find out till I'm head over heels
Something happens and I'm head over heels
Ah, don't take my heart, don't break my heart
Don't, don't, don't throw it away

And this is my four leaf clover,
I'm on the line, one open mind,
this is my four leaf clover

http://www.borndirty.org/forums/pict...2&pictureid=91 (from 2007)

(La la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la la)
(La la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la la)
(La la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la la)
(La la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la la)
(La la la la la, la la la la la)

In my mind's eye (la la la la la la)
One little boy, one little man (La la la la la, la la la la la)
Funny how...time flies!!!

Need You - Trumpet Thing
(Buddha-Bar II by Claude Challe)

They say "Buddha Bar is a place which makes one feel good, as it takes its clients on a voyage into the world situated between dreams and reality."
Well, when I visited Buddha Bar for the first time in ´97/98, long before they opened a Buddha Bar Shop for tourists, I was definitely not living in a dream.
...or was I?
At that time I was working almost day and night as Project Manager (+50 people and fixed price IT project, maybe some of you know what that means) and tried to handle my mothers second attempted suicide at the same time (she has a kind of AD/HD). It was quite busy times I must say and the Buddha Bar experience in Paris was an oasis indeed. Yet I lived on a street called Lucky Street and in summertime I was sailing a 38 ft boat with a name Lucky Swede. :)
Ha..ha.. sounds weird I know. Life is quite inscrutable sometimes.

Outsized - Karma (Extended mix)
(Buddha Bar IV by David Visan)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYQwHa3FytM

All Buddhas of the past, present and future

Buddha of compassion

Please hear my anguished words of truth

Karma, in an ocean of joy

They are drunk with demonic delusions

What is right, and what is wrong?

What is right, and what is wrong?

Bodhisattvas, an ocean of measureless qualities

Let the might of your compassion rise to bring a quick end,

to the flowing stream of the blood and tears.

Buddha of compassion

What is right and what is wrong?

In an ocean of joy

What is right and what is wrong?

Our most cherished and long felt desire

Karma

Karma

Buddha of compassion

Please hear my anguished words of truth

Hehe, funny. Now we know why H. P. rather shouts than "sings" - that sounded horrible. (He's from my home county and we clearly have a thing in common.)

It´s really lucky that he died, I mean it feels a bit better to know "I will never meet him" instead of "I will never get a chance to meet him" and talk about that lightning and the hurt and help me make these mysteries unfold
...at love

now I´m thinking about dear Darren again
he wasn´t dancing on the table it´s true but he was also careful of the glasses :)

and ended up with one of my old favourites
Zucchero - Eric Clapton (Wonderful World)

But to be quite honest, I don´t understand what is so extraordinary with Clapton.
