Hi all,

I've been lurking here for a while but haven't been able to post for some reason. I guess it was waiting for something worthwhile. Well here's an mp3 of the UnderworldLive.com remix of Beautiful Burnout.

I love this song in every incarnation. My favorite is the version on the Birmingham live CD.

Enjoy!

Oblivion with Bells and the Breaking & Entering soundtrack also fall under the "riverrun project" label, according to Karl in some interview. He described the riverrun project as everything they've produced since A Hundred Days Off.

I don't think this verifies anything, except that Bamboo is unreleased and the river is still flowing ...

Nice one starfox.

So, riddle me this anyone.
Is the dog's name Barny? As in Barny The Leggy?

These are the things that keep me awake at night.

If they'd do an Oblivion Ball in the UK, I would be wasting $700 in a second for a plane ticket over. Money, work and school be damned! 120 Days, SMD, and the Orb and the Underworld boys in their home country? Sign me the hell up!

Luckily for me, however, I don't see them putting that together overnight, so I have a bit of time to save up some extra "dirty" funds.

That being said, I wish they'd do one in the US, but I really doubt that will ever happen, plus I'd much rather see a show of that magnitude in the UK. I'd imagine the vibe would be much different, unless it was another show under the stars in Central Park. That was simply magical and hardly anything could ever top that.

Dear Underworld HQ,

Are there any plans to do streaming broadcasts for any / all this week Japan's events?

Also, are there any plans to sell CD's of said shows via UnderworldLive.com or www.liveherenow.co.uk?

Warm regards and safe travel,

Jason

A new gem visible now @ uwlive "member only" zone... a very original video of BB (new mix also... erm... "finger mix" maybe..?)

ps : ***SPOILER*** where we learn that it was not "crumb" but "chrom(e)" ;)

gillenium 11-22-2007 09:23 PM

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread

Anyone who didn't know it was chrome before this wasn't listening very well...

But anyways, the video - bleh. This album has seen its share of mediocre videos. I liked it better than Taylor's videos, but that's not saying much. Didn't care too much for the new mix either. But, thanks again to Underworld for providing members content first!

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread

there's a fine line being tread

between lo-budget, non-flashy ideas justly getting their props for that subliminal charm and creative simplicity that lack of funds tend to spark

and just dicking around with no emphasis except squarely on the fact that this is shoddy and not successful in communicating much of anything

i really hate this video, but that's fine.
i can see a time where i might like it, mainly because it's so dark, meshing the sense of touch with sound, and letting different forms fade in and out... is interesting in that sense of cognitive ambiguity and letting the visuals exist without focusing on anything in particular, but any stretched conceptual favors like that really do go out the window with actually watching it.

edit: at least i want to see it again to see if i really hate it that much

i think its a much better video than the dog one,
(more like moaner part 2)..i especially like the parts
after the 5min:50sec point...classic uw video..

i really don't care what the other new videos are like,
as long as the song is good...

time to start creating our own videos!

"an extraordinary film by Dirk Van Dooren and Tomato"

hmmm, extraordinarily boring maybe. Sorry uw but your video's as of late have been severely lacking in the creative department.

I've seen (and made) loads of this kind of stuff myself though....
in my first year in artschool

I strongly recommend posting some of those new tunes as downloads (not annoyingly un-saveable streaming quicktimes) instead of wasting more time on these half-assed videos.

i'm kinda messing around with the idea for doing an autotrader video sometime soon

it's a bit complicated though and i dont know if it would glue together nearly as well as i have it in my head.

More like this one ... Daft Hands

Actually I really liked the BB video, EXCEPT for the parts with words written on the hands ... it just didn't seem to fit with the feel of the rest of the video.

I'm glad the words were on the fingers cos it cleared up a dispute about whether it was "bird - crumb" or "earth - chrome". In fact it's a bit of both. :D
