Mmm, excited for the DVD then. Nice to see Graham back again and Tomato getting all up in it. Now we just need to find out what's in the Limited Edition.

These are Dylan and Michael Horsham's first videos for Underworld, I believe?

have you heard of this new technology out there? it's called a BLU Ray or something... it's what the DVD technology will move to in the future. it's a High Definition format- it's even clearer than DVD if you can believe that!

1. Bird 1 - Directed by Dylan Kendle
2. Always Loved A Film - Directed by Graham Wood
3. Scribble - Directed by Toby Vogel
4. Hamburg Hotel - Directed by Dylan Kendle
5. Grace - Directed by Jason Kedgley
6. Between Stars - Directed by Michael Horsham
7. Diamond Jigsaw - Directed by Simon Taylor & Hudson-Powell
8. Moon In Water - Directed by Timothy Bricknell
9. Louisiana - Directed by Toby Vogel & Danielle Short

Danielle's directing now? Look forward to it :)

Some of the listings that I have seen seem to suggest that the DVD for the LTD ED has different content. Not been able to confirm yet.

The UK standard is PAL, the Japanese standard is NTSC, it depends on your DVD player, whether or not it is "multi-region". A computer shouldn't have any problems and it is possible to convert NTSC to PAL.

Re: New Underworld album - Barking (Sept. 13, Sept 2 Japan)

Just FYI, the Oblivion with Bells DVD was region-coded. However, The Bells The Bells DVD was not.

Re: New Underworld album - Barking (Sept. 13, Sept 2 Japan)

The Bells The Bells DVD is in the NTSC format, so if you can play that you should be good.

all this 3d tv garbage... i really see it as a really bad marketing move by TV companies. nobody's going to go for it, it's simply too impractical to have to wear glasses everytime you want to watch TV. it's neat when you're in a movie theater, as a novelty, but who really wants to see the daily show in 3d?

yeh 3D tv will fail.

but back on topic the super furries were the first to put out an album with dvd that had a video for each song, right?

Rings Around the World? Possibly the first in that combination but certainly not the first album to have videos for each track (not including live stuffs/greatest hits comps, ect..).

Eventually you won't need glasses:

Auto-stereoscopic (gizmodo)

These will be necessary for 3d to make it into the main-stream ( plus GOOD 3d generation for non-animated shows )

I like the first cover more. It's more neonish. The new cover is a bit too much of everything.

I assume you have not seen a 3D TV performing ? I indeed was scepitcal but having seen one I was blown away with the performance. What was the point of watching football in 3D I thought - well having seen a demo I can tell you the quality is outstanding

BUT the point is everything wont be in 3d anyway....like you be watching Eastenders in 3d ! It will purely be for ceratin events ie movies, sport etc etc & todays 3D TV's do both at the same time with excellent results

Questions the Japan Barking Box vs. the limited edition UK box?

Is the only difference the bonus track?

and/or does the japan Barking box not include the 12" vinyl?

Guesses and ideas welcome.

Spooky Shoes 07-14-2010 11:04 AM

Re: New Underworld album - Barking (Sept. 13, Sept 2 Japan)

The vinyl is a separate issue to both the UK and JP boxes.

I'd expect that the difference in the LTD ED's will be the bonus track and the Deluxe may have different content on the DVD.

yeah, I suspect this will be the case and we'll have to purchase Japanese edition box to get the "uber-complete" edition!! unless uwlive make a small number of the Japanese edition box set available (similar to what they did with The Bells).....

Re: New Underworld album - Barking (Sept. 13, Sept 2 Japan)

as far as album covers go... that's not why i listen to the music. dubno's album cover is the only one i really love, on my cassette tape copy where the inside is totally blank and matte paper like a normal cassette but then you notice the microscopic writing all over the inside. i guess dubno and stiti were the only albums that didn't have 'consistent' covers, like depending on what edition you got, cassette, vinyl, cd, etc. you got different artwork. as far as i know the others past that had nearly identical artwork.

Pretty sure Beaucoup Fish had different artwork for every format, too. They were all blue but I think the vinyl, cassette, CD and minidisc had different geomatic shapes.
