Bolt. Such a great name for a sprinter. It's like it was meant to be.

Underworld Spotting [Again]

Last April i had to make a film to promote the secondary school where i work.
The film was intended to be viewed during a kind of "open day" event for the younger students from other public schools of the region. The screening of it took place in a dark room with some visual effects being projected on both sides of the main projection. I used Scriblle for the main film. Consequence of this, last July we had 3 times more students wanting to enter the Multimedia Course we have there.:)

The Honda advert from Germany now in the UK and Moon In Water uses in the UK on a Saturday during the summary on the football scores. Strangely, Spikee was used on an old ITV UK show also on football

Re: Underworld Spotting [Again]

Attended an outstanding performance from Jamie Lidell last night here in Chicago. He did an improv in the midst of the show incorporating a string of Chicago house classics and, at the very end, the rising synth from "Rez".

Lidell's the only performer who, for me, could equal the joy and euphoria of an Underworld show. Everything I've seen and read so far also indicates that he, his wife/manager/fellow artist Lindsey Rome, and associates are all thoroughly likeable people. Nice to see a nod from one esteemed artist/good guy to others.

I remember hearing them a few times on the last Olympic broadcast. I wonder if we will this time, too (though the main reason we heard them last time could be because they were heavily involved in scoring the Opening Ceremonies)?

Bree-lliant. :)

Just saw Twilight of the Dark Master for the first time. I think it had 'Tongue' in several places. Difficult to spot, though - short snippets drowned in other noise.

Mentioned on the Funktion One facebook page:

Quote:

Busy day yesterday for some of the guys, installing a Funktion-One monitor system for Brian Eno (Roxy Music) and Karl Hyde (Underworld) rehearsals.

The band are rehearsing for a Maida Vale radio session on Wednesday and Later with Jools Holland next Tuesday.

The set-up includes Funktion-One Res2s, PSM18s and PSM12s.

Re: Underworld Spotting [Again]

Looks like "Later... with Jools Holland" broadcasts with a two-week delay in America on the Palladia channel. So, the Eno/Hyde episode should air on May 29 on Palladia.

Flashback: Jumbo remix in a Conan O'Brien sketch from 2000

I was browsing through an archive of old Conan O'Brien sketches and found a funny one from 2000. At 7:20 Conan presents a high-concept ad for a furniture salesman. My UW radar went off as soon as it started. Sure enough, it's Jumbo (Jedis Sugar Hit Mix). Give it a listen, you'll recognize it right away.

https://vimeo.com/8841769

What an obscure track to show up in a random sketch. No one on earth would appreciate this fun fact but you folks. I haven't posted in ages but I thought of dirty as soon as I realized what I was hearing. :)

It's always nice to hear Underworld on US television. Season 1 Episode titled "Wujing" had Bird 1 playing. 😊
