well, if they're both 'festival sets' you're not going to see any variation. With the exception of Pearls Girl, Dirty Epic and Moaner to end the sets, they've been identical. If the set time is 1:15, you won't hear any changes. If the set time is longer at one than the other, then you'll get either PG, Dirty Epic or maybe Skyscraper and Moaner to finish.

Right, ok, good info. I do particularly hope that we hear PG tomorrow night, but I'm not terribly desperate for that one, as my preferred live versions of the tune predate the year 2000. I really like how much they used to f*ck with it when Emerson was still around. Leading off with that PG improv back from the Mayan Theatre was in-bloody-sane. Talk about getting my arse handed to me, and then some.

And to think I was only able to experience that via live recording. I'm so very grateful for whoever made that. That, and the Sheffield Octogon (which I can't seem to find anymore for some reason), particularly -- though any live UW is never anything but stellar, of course.

P. S. I know this doesn't really belong in this thread, so please forgive the off-topicness, as I don't intend to stray too long -- but did anyone see "Let Me In" with "Doot Doot" playing in the "seclusion scene"? Was that not breathtaking?

i had previously refused to see "let me in" because the original is so amazing, but now i'll have to just for that scene. really like its usage in "vanilla sky".

for tomorrow all i'm really hoping for is always loved a film (which is probably a guarantee; definitely my fav track on barking right now), king of snake, and if for some reason the star align properly juanita/kiteless.

does anyone know the last time they've played something from MK1 era?

Vin sounds like a nice joint. I'm up for Johnny's, Vin, or hopping around the neighborhood. I'll be down in SD super early (leaving Ventura County at dawn...hate traffic).

Also, I just booked a room in Mission Valley because I don't want to risk the ride home amongst the holiday partiers. If any Dirts don't feel like the drive back to LaLaLand (and aren't inherently psychotic...aside from being manic fans, which is a given), you're welcome to message me or hit me at the meetup if you need a place to crash.

No clue what I'm wearing...that's a game time decision. I'll definitely be wearing red high top converse, sunglasses, and will be roaming the Gaslamp from 4:00 on. Can't wait for the show. Best coast indeed.

Blaqk Audio: 10:00pm - 10:35pm
Underworld: 11:15pm - 1:00am

just a heads up the wine bar "syrah" is located on the north east corner of 5th & E and is located down a small flight of stairs beneath street level. there should be a bouncer at the top of stairs to point the way.

For what it's worth, I called the box office schedule line tonight...
the message said doors at 8:00 with show starting at 9:00 (first act whoever it is). Then it said Reset after show event.

The wife and I will probably be at the meet up. Maybe grabbing dinner afterwards. I'll be in blue button up and jeans, she'll be in black leather jacket. I just called 4th and B and their start time has been moved to 11:45. Would anyone with gen admin (or even VIP) be interested in splitting bottle service - $275 for 4 people - we're both light drinkers, but don't want to be stuck in general admin. We're looking forward to this show!

Latest set times -

Called the venue & the setlist as of 4:20 has UW 11:50 to 1:50a.
Full show goes until 4a.

Recommended to get there 11 or sooner as set times have apparently changed 3x today - maybe UW or their gear is hitting traffic. ;)

Oh, and count me among those of you for whom the 1998 Mayan show was their first Underworld show. Cool to see that so many of us have remained fans and communicating on this board. Like you, it was one of the best nights of my life and pretty much changed everything for me in terms of the way I thought about music and performance.

Awesomeness. Thanks for the info on the time change and the confirm that it'll be a 2 hour show. I am giddy. I am soooooo tired, but I am still giddy.

Anyone know if we can bring point & shoot cameras? I went over there and asked but the person I asked didn't know. The ticket says no cameras, but sometimes that doesn't mean what it says.

Sweet 2 hours...thanks for the updates....my brother and I just got back from an awesome neighborhood restaurant on Ocean Beach. Now back at our hotel at Pacific Beach. Will be there dressed up as 'the rational consumer' in jeans, white shirt and Oblivion with Bells purple shirt underneath.

I AM SUPER EXCITED!!! R & K probably think I'm crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy... I was out here enjoying a slice of Pizza around the corner from the venue. I look up and who do I see walking by, yes, I saw our dynamic duo. I ran out and tapped Karl and said Hi and I totally went blank because of the excitement... At any rate, I just said Hi, shook hands and said it was a pleasure. There's only a short line out front, and I can't wait for the show! UNDERWORLD!!!

That's a great story dave...from today's UWlive post, it seems that Karl is battling some nasty bug and he was not allowed to talk during the day today. Hope Karl will feel better for the show.

He didn't say much. Hopefully he's saving it up. He looked well enough to me. He's much taller in person than I anticipated. It's after 8 and they're still not letting anyone in. I asked the girl at front and she said between 8-8:30... btw, I'm the short guy in the black sweater with the unground logo T.

Already inside. This place is smaller than I was hoping for. It's going to be an amazing show. Good view from the VIP section too! The DJ is kicking the bass so I know the sound is going vibrate for UW. If you come in now theres still plenty of room up front. The stage is rather high though, probably 4 1/2 feet above the floor.

I've seen them 2 other times with no projections....won't be any problems once the music starts. Karl seems to work extra harder since he'll be an even bigger focal point on stage.

Free Wi-Fi!!!!! Lol!!! Yeah, who is this DJ? He's mediocre at best. Played some good tunes, but had a few really bad crossfades.... and the tempo from track to track could be better matched! Sometimes it sucks to be so into the details! But uw are going to be stellar! This place is perfect!!! Are there no shirts etc... for sale???
