yes we must preserve the sanctitiy of the noise forum and let it continue to be half comprised of birthday threads
no slight against janie, but i thought it could do with a little trashtalking without fear of us becoming "one of them", especially since the rest of the forum places such a self-conscious premium of everyone getting along all of the time in ways which are as unreal to irl as the classic example of a perfectly decent chap becoming a complete cock online. noise forum MIGHT be the one forum dedicated to faffery and general nonsense, that it could stand being a bit of the black sheep of the rest.

obv it never caught on/wasnt done right/picked the wrong time because we surely want to keep the hordes out and this is our special little place and it's so special lets not do anything at all.

guys, i obv couldnt believe what i've written in this thread because i'd just need to get linked to uwlive.com to get shown up. i'd have to basically find a new favorite band.

I don't really know what to say to this (I don't quite follow half of it, tbh) except to say that sometimes things go beyond being funny and turn into gratuitous bitchiness, and marks get over-stepped. Having a go at Rog or anyone else for being old is just laziness - it's too easy.

If more than two people tell someone they are being a twat, chances are they are probably being a twat. I wouldn't need to be told more than twice, that's for sure. I would just swallow it and go away and say something funny somewhere else instead. But that's just me.

About the birthday thread thingy, though. People were doing birthday threads on here before I stopped being a lurker and started being a member 5 years ago. It wasn't something I invented, and I have always thought it was kinda nice for regular posters to think that maybe one or two people wanted to send them good wishes.

Unless I am ordered not to do it by a higher authority, I see no harm in them. Nobody is forced to read them if they don't want to.

birthday threads are fine. if you read it right i didnt mean it as a dig against you. but it IS a dig to the noise forum overall when half of its body is made of birthday threads. nore activity is needed. more nonsense. more flagrant business.
