Hey, i wasnt singling any one person out here but I thought the reaction was a bit over the top, and I was making a lighthearted joke about it re:the handbag thing. If you thought it was lame, tough tits cos I was trying to defuse the situation.

If you didnt know that BrotherLovesDub was Biznotic then thats your problem. He's made around 125 posts and joined in early August, about a month after the forums came back. He's not a newcomer.

my ass is exit only and you dont want any of that but if you ask me nicely i'll post some to you.

You guys can tear each other to pieces if you want but it aint worth it. You know the context of the original post so theres no point in crying over spilt milk.

Me? I kinda like Tool.

If I can suggest something though? adam/dubman youre not doing yourselves any favours if you carry on this argument any further. Me, I'm outta here so please dont flame me and force me to come back ;)

EDIT: just read adams last post so I guess that makes some of what ive said above redundant :)

Yeah, I know, I know. I'm suitably embarassed.

My bad. Whole thing. I take it all back.

BLD had pissed me off with his saying that the only reason to use vinyl was an ego thing, and that coloured my perception of his subsequent posts, some of which may have been good-natured ribbing that I missed. Then people chiming in this thread to "laugh at the tool fans," was pretty lame, and increased my irritation, because our irritation was pretty much wholly justified, and laughing AT someone who's pissed off and has a legitimate reason to be is a poor thing to do, and not something many of you would likely do in real life, at least not as overtly/in the same tone. Not a good way to deal with people.

However, neither was anything I did.

So, BLD, Stimp, Dubman, I'm sorry. And, dubman, I regret saying you're an idiot because I can't actually recall what made me think so. I certainly think you came accross as one in this thread, but, I did too, so I don't think you're an idiot.

You have been one here. :p :D

well, to fess up to it, i remember some particular instances of discussion in that area that resulted in some less intelligent remarks.

but there's something important about that.

i had a whole thing typed up on the bus and here you go being all reasonable and shit...

all i'll say then is:

you gave me the worst comeback since “let’s see you make a better album,” I was reacting to that and your entire attitude in this thread that smacked not only of judging others character based on music preference, but also in regards to Tool, in which you took a dumb reply and blew it up to unreasonable proportions.

but all that is done now

Side note: also because I say lots of super belligerent things on forums because, um, none of it matters. I realize that the pretense of objectivity while making outrageous claims are going to make people remember it for a few years, but just so long as you know that I think this is funny (even if you don’t), I’m ok with that. I recognize my sn and me not liking dub that much are two facts that result in a humorous situation, all I say in defense is that I didn’t really know there was such a genre called that when I signed up at 15

Feel the love!

For the record, I don't give a shit if anyone likes Tool or not. Or dub. Or Massive Attack. It is, in fact, imposing your standard of taste on others which I strongly dislike: exactly what you're accusing me of doing.

*In my defense of Massive Attack I did exactly that. I'm a hypocrite.

You know what else sucks? Me saying, "Feel the love." The receptionist at work says that several times a day and every time she does I want to punch her in the face (hey, I like Tool and therefore punching). Great that her annoying mannerisms are becoming my own.

it's from the beginning of one of the tracks on scientist's "scientist rids the world of the curse of evil vampires"

So was it on GTA III? They had most of that album.
