Interesting to hear tracks like "Peach Tree" and "Little Speaker", which afaik have never been played live. And some of the older track were updated and jammed very nicely. Mixing quality a bit suspect, but hey, if it's live, it's live and it was a great 2 and a half hours for the fans. |
Re: Misterons Jam info
About 15 minutes in first listen. BRILLIANT. Thanks Guys!!!
And I don't give a $#!7 if it make you hate that you made me happy. :p ! |

I believe a split (and eventually tagged) version will appear on the venerable rtsr. thanks to raj for beginning the labelling.

Anyway I really enjoyed this set simply because of all the old and more obscure stuff thrown in, even if it didn't always gel too well with whatever Price was doing in between. |
Re: Misterons Jam info
Just back from work and party. I am gonna say it, and sorry if it offends, but FOR FUCK'S SAKE!
Oblivion Ball - some people whining cos they don't get the old/obscure stuff that they would want to hear.....UW boring now.... only playing commercial stuff...not like the old days.... blah blah ad nauseam. So they do a totally awesome set including all the absolute gems that people have been crying out for, the best FREE broadcast they have ever done, and there are STILL some people who have to moan about it! I seriously do not believe it. Seriously. Do. Not. Believe. It. GET A LIFE!!!! PLEASE!!! OR STOP WHINING. OR SOMETHING. WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT? BLOOD?!! </rant> Edit:actually, not end rant, not yet. Raj - "yeah, it's harsh".... harsh? No. Out there where the bloody buses don't run any more, maybe? Yes you are. I won't apologise again because actually I wonder if there is anything, ever, that will make some people happy. And this kind of moaning on people's part says more about their own life-states and where they are at personally than about anything that the band are doing. Get a grip, chaps - seriously. Are you listening to the same broadcast as us? I really do wonder. A B-?! In your mind, baby. No-one elses. |
Re: Misterons Jam info
What a jam. What a band. Bowl of RICE.
Jesus. I've always wanted a mix of 'Little Speaker' and boy, boy, boy just exactly like that mix. AND all the other stuff was beautiful. RICK+KARL+thatdudewhofirstnameisDARREN; respect. Best band in the world. |
Re: Misterons Jam info
Peach Tree is awesome. If that was it, it would be great. But then there is all the other cool stuff.
|
Re: Misterons Jam info
lol now we're just asking them to put on another ECG (which isn't really to my taste anyway) inside of a studio webcast. that version of spoonman was the best i've ever heard, and it's also the best recording of BS original that we're going to get. it was loud, heavy, and about as good as i could hope for. the samples isnt the point, it's what they do with them, and they worked some magic in there.
not trying to shut you up, i just think yr wrong. ;) |

Was it ever determined if this track and NUXX share anything at all besides a name? I still can't tell from listening. |
Re: Misterons Jam info
I think it's just called "breakbeat version" because after a couple of minutes the original version on the single switched to a 4/4 beat and the breakbeat faded to the background.

Re: Misterons Jam info
So, the new downtempo jazzy version of Jumbo, as heard on the 12/05 broadcast and up for a while on myspace, turns out to be Darren Price's "Nicodemus". It's lovely, but i'm again surprised to find that music i thought was new UW improvs actually being by Pricey (as with "5 ft 5", and "Shake that Higher").
holden p.s.: for anyone who has interest in burning the show to disc (i am still an album man in the mp3 age), here is some simple cover art using the posted tracklist and images that were posted on uwlive prior to the event. i split the show at ~77 minutes in (just before the UW vocal interlude). please go back and listen to the following free shows: --------------------------------------------------- blue mountain any of their earlier live shows, eg tokyo live (that went on to become 3cd set) especially->peel sessions especially->cocoon and then tell me the misterons mix was better, oh, it isn't? ok...especially when this show wasn't even 100% underworld like the ones i mentioned.. i never said it was bad, i just said it didn't compare to previous shows...which is my opinion.. later -1 |
[updated] -> _underworld_vs_misterons_track_listing_v01.a_
i'm still guessing on a few of these,
but this is more accurate than what i had before.. uw vs misterons listing 0.1a Code:
000:33-000:46 -'this is the voice' samplehave that in the recording i had.. later -1 |

Every time they give us a "present", there is always someone to say how it could have been better/tighter/better mixed/better content/less of this/more of that/not long enough/too long/not enough of the older content/too much of the older content/blahblahbloodyblah. And 9 times out of 10 it is American fans that do this, so I wonder if it is a cultural thing to be constantly critical and never accept the beauty of something in the spirit in which it was given. I am glad I am not buying xmas presents for you guys! You - and that is a collective you for all the armchair music producers, btw - don't only seem to be looking a gift horse in the mouth every damn time; you bring along the vetinary dentist and the drilling equipment with you too. I guess I should just keep my blood-pressure down by not reading these threads post facto. :) |
Re: Misterons Jam info
Cocoon wasn't all UW, and there was some nice new tracks at the time we didn't know of about.
|
Re: _opinions_

i think we have an answer. this was the best underworldlive internet performacne. i'm pretty sure that's what people are saying here. cocoon was epic but it was a diff. cup of tea alltogether. there was an audience there. your argument is built on a false notion. nobody said this was the best underworld show ever. |
Re: Misterons Jam info
why can't people have their own opinions? why can't people express their opinions with out being flamed here? yes, it is a fan-board, but we don't want to turn into underworld apologists where nothing bad can be said about them. don't worry, i'm sure that -1 is not hurting r&k's feelings so why get so defensive?
i am not taking a stance either way, as I don't have enough experience to make a claim like it's the best/worst/etc but I do believe that -1 should be able to say whatever he f-ing wants to without being directly flamed |

Re: Misterons Jam info
-1's critique isn't valid because he's comparing a free internet only show to wildly different types of performance.
no harm meant from me. i just see this as a particular type of show. saying this wasn't as good as the Peel Session or Blue Mountain gig is just ridiculous because they're not meant to be the same type of performance. |

Re: Misterons Jam info
Thanks for the pointers, BLD. I think this track would properly be called:
Prince Far I / Singers & Players - "Virgin" http://www.skysaw.org/onu/resources/...sp-onudp1.html |
Re: Misterons Jam info
What an amzing version of Spoonman :)
|
Re: Misterons Jam info
Brilliant set all around - even the Price selections. I agree they didn't really fit Underworld's style, but that's kind of the nature of the project that they're aiming for in my mind. :p Anyway, I stick to my comments in the chatroom during the broadcast that this deserves it's own release similar to the Tokyo 3cd set or all the recent live recordings. Cater to the fans! We worship the internets you broadcast on!
Anyway, while blasted...I like the set even more, so it's got that going for it... |

Good detective work, guys. It's actually:
Oliver Klein - "Re-Kraft (Gui Boratto Version)" http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/M...41&i=258525236 http://www.myspace.com/djoliverklein |
Re: Misterons Jam info
Here's my attempt at a cue sheet.
Note that I left out the Linkwood Family track that's listed on the UW site because no matter how hard I tried I couldn't hear any other track happening between Sweedish Silver and Billy Goat. Edited with TheBang's info from the next post down. Thanks! I didn't put the Linkwood Family track in since Billy Goat comes in underneath it and, as TheBang notes, it's barely worth tracking. I'm not sure what happened with Track 13. I was sure I had already fixed that, but it's fixed for real now. Code:
PERFORMER "Underworld" |
Re: Misterons Jam info
The Linkwood Family "track" is the spoken word thing that precedes the beginning of Billy Goat. Go to http://www.myspace.com/firecrackerrecordings and click on "Word to the Wise skit". Almost not worth tracking, IMO.
Track 10 on your CUE sheet is called "All the Stars." It was released as a download track on underworldlive.com in 2001. See my post above yours for Track 13. Thanks for your work on the cue sheet. |
Re: Misterons Jam info

Re: Misterons Jam info
Anyone else in love with Pricey's 'Summer Days'
I can't stop listening to this track... brill! is this coming out on a new LP? |
Re: Misterons Jam info
Thanks for the hard work on the cue sheets and recording, guys and girls.
Really, really enjoying this... a fantastic early Christmas present. Would love to see this available as an UWLive CD but I expect that might be difficult due to licensing issues regarding the tracks by artists other than Underworld. For shame :( |
Re: Misterons Jam info
Did anyone record the "Underworld vs the misterons mix"?
Or does anyone know where i can download it? I´d really like to listen to it... Cheers J |
