Re: Diamond Jigsaw Single Information and Ordering Links
Amazon has a 3-track digital single with a new mix: James Dean Bradfield / Loz Williams Remix. More rocky, big beat mix.

Re: Diamond Jigsaw Single Information and Ordering Links
Wagon Cooking mix starts off good but then when the disco shit starts up its really terrible and my brain recoils in horror.
Jacob Plant version is super duper horrible, made even worse by his Soundcloud comments on every single user's comment in the track along the lines of...."Great bass!" <-- "Glad you like it, more like this on the way! :-) " |

Longer sample of JDB Loz Williams mix here:

Re: Diamond Jigsaw Single Information and Ordering Links
wait? so that thing on amazon is the exact single??? If so, its kinda a crappy in my opinion. I the remixes are a bit mediocre, and i was hoping for that demo or more interesting stuff...

I hope for there next album, they go all the way opposite, no remixes by others, no collaboration with others... Pure underworld magic. |

Re: Diamond Jigsaw Single Information and Ordering Links
I actually like the JDB mix of the song... and I'm not even a Manic Street Preachers fan. I'll admit - I did try to get into them... I bought "Know Your Enemy" and actually really liked it - so I bought that 'greatest hits' album of theirs... and liked basically none of the non-remix tracks (except for one, I forget the title)
although - I do think that guitar solo is a bit out of place... |
Re: Diamond Jigsaw Single Information and Ordering Links
I think most people were disappointed because it was basically the album we had all been waiting for (ALAF, Bird 1 aka Strumpet, Scribble etc), but with an extra degree of separation from the originals we loved - I'm sure everyone would have been fine with it if it had been a remix album instead of the big, flashy LP it was. The bonus disc lessened the blow a bit, but still there's songs which we'll never be able to hear our favorite versions of - the 80's version of Diamond Jigsaw for example!

Moon in Water also springs to mind. The original radio broadcast of that was amazing, really thought they'd expand that into some 10-minute epic closer instead of a pop song.
