Re: always loved a film on pete tong
This is leagues better than Scribble and absolutely, without a doubt, shattering any misconceptions I had about a co-produced album of this kind. I don't want to come off as gushing because its a new track and all, but gush gush gush.
I strayed off the UW path for like a few weeks. This has me right back on it. Thanks boys! |
Re: always loved a film on pete tong
After listening to this version more than 10 times, I am digging it more. I think hearing a not-radio-rip would warm me up even more - but I'll be patient.

I agree there is an 80's vibe but it's totally welcome. This is absoultely fantastic. The break is amazing. This album may be the best thing they've ever done.

Re: always loved a film on pete tong
It feels like a combination of the BF era music with Mk1 type vocals
not a bad thing |
Re: always loved a film on pete tong
I really like the breakdown in the new version.
The only thing that I feel that's missing is the bassline. Whether it was the original throbbing bassline or Silver Boots bassline, it was always a prominent feature of the song, and now it seems to be just buried and generic. |
Re: always loved a film on pete tong
i still hear the bassline pretty strongly. wonder if thats because im looking for it though.

Re: always loved a film on pete tong
yeah, the bassline is sorely missed. not sure where you hear it potsy.

Re: always loved a film on pete tong
the one i hear strongly is the one that comes in just as Karl starts saying "the rhythm, the rhythm, the rhythm..." but upon further listen, its more perceived. i agree with y'alls now after listening to some older versions of the track. still love it. :)
(it comes back when he starts his "heaven" bit.) |
