song of the day = playlist of the day = "African Funk+" = shit tons of Fela Kuti, Tony Allen, Ochestre Poly-Rythmo, Nigerian + Ghana comps on Soundway + Strut + Africa 100 compilations.
(check out voodoofunk.blogspot.com for a great read and some stellar dj mixes of this stuff) not sure what i'm hearing but they've all been amazing epic funk jams that detour through jazz, blues, soul, disco and proto-house styles. |

Mondays suck. Me Mum’s Banana Bread Preheat Oven 350. 1 cup margirine (melted-20 sec. in microwave) ¼ tsp. vanilla ½ tsp salt 1 tsp. baking soda or powder ¼ tsp cinnamon 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp. ginger 2 eggs 2 cups flour (add 2 additional table spoons if in high elevation area) ********************* 3 ripe bananas (mashed) Mix all above together, add bananas last and mix well. (girls: the measurements and addition of ingredients) Grease bread pan with a little margarine, add ½ tablespoon sugar and a little cinnamon to coat margarine on inner pan.(boys: labor i.e. stirring/mixing/& greasing the pan) Bake 50 min. |
