I think all of those are on Discogs already, except for the Remix one. I have better (non-blurry) pictures of the Remix tape that you uploaded to RTSR a long time ago.

Re: collectors' corner
Snagged the dubno Blu-ray for $27.67 from here on eBay. It's legit, sealed, has download code, etc. He's raised the price a little to $30.97 shipped in the US but still seems reasonable? I never picked it up on release. I'm seeing it for $30-$65 shipped from China and Croatia on Discogs.

Re: Drop #3 - Cowgirl Limited Drop
Quote:
A lot of it comes down to the mastering or cut which can have a huge impact on the final press. Most of the cost in a box set will be in it's packaging - not everything goes up in value on the second hand market and sellers will sometimes have a surplus of titles (especially box sets which can take up a lot of space) they prefer to move on at nearer cost price rather than waiting for it to sell at full price. Of course some box sets will go up in value hugely, but there's no real science to predict what will or won't, but you can often make an educated guess as to what might increase in value. v. |

i've noticed with cd boxsets, most have stayed flat with their prices, compared to their original prices. now granted, i don't have the 'barbara barbara' one, which i will be getting. but i'm ok with whatever price its going for, because it was more limited. Re: Drop #3 - Cowgirl Limited Drop
Some fool paid $52 for the Barking box.
|
Re: Drop #3 - Cowgirl Limited Drop
Quote:
one, because i can't stand that album. but will probably end up paying more just to have it, and never play it. someone paid over $200 for the original drift boxset, its not worth that much either. i think i paid like $80 for it used. but thats what collectors do. later -1 |
Re: Drop #3 - Cowgirl Limited Drop
Bloody hell, I'd love to have enough money to justify buying music I won't even play!

Re: collectors' corner
I just got the Beaucoup box set for £35 on eBay.
Still need the STITI one. |
Re: collectors' corner
For a while those STITI and BF ones were hard to get. Maybe I should have waited. Still, I with the prices on the Barbara set would drop, that's the only one I'm missing.
Also - it's probably been said a million times but man oh man I can't wait for the Oblivion box set, especially if they bring in the RiverRun material. |
Re: collectors' corner
A Hundred Days Off could be interesting.
I have the DVD case promo (somewhere) which had a lot of alternative artwork not in the official release. Some of the b sides released could also go there. The last proper album where b sides were a thing. |
Re: collectors' corner
Yeah, it had far more b-sides than Beaucoup Fish.
Karl did mention the fact that a second Drift boxset might get in the way of the AHDO box, so it's definitely still on the radar. Probably be next year for the 20th anniversary, although I can't help thinking the pandemic would be a great time to go through the archives and put together a really good boxset. |

Re: collectors' corner
Oh, interesting, I didn't realize that existed. It looks like they chopped up and trimmed the track order. I would've maybe considered getting it if the price weren't so exorbitant. It looks like that bootleg label put out another UW vinyl of bootleg remixes too:

Boots have been traded and sold forever, and I guess no one but the original artist has the rights to the music. Traders etiquette suggests you don't sell and many artists are cool with the hardcore fans trading. But this one, bootleg Babies, was more of a fair use recreation of a gig. Lots of effort and expertise. I guess if anything is on the internet, it's impossible to preserve intellectual property or control distribution. Around 2001 when I found this forum (well, the old version) and was really discovering the band, I downloaded all the fan remixes and burnt them to CDR. Can't say it was a great hi fi listening experience. Now they're on vinyl, so the pops and clicks accentuate the low bitrate glitches! My own AVID remixes from that time, using freeware and dubious techniques have appeared....cool to say they're on vinyl, but again, who would pay for this? I guess if you were just discovering the band like I did 20 years ago, you'd be excited to hear something rare and you wouldn't know their free origins. 5 seconds on Google should tell you something about the obscurity of those remixers! |
Re: collectors' corner
I would love a 6LP colored vinyl set, or something lathe cut.
there's a ton of cool new order bootlegs: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/5QcAA...TLZ/s-l500.jpg I think that would be pretty cool. But anyways. later -1 |
