Finally got around to framing some old, even very old artwork. I bought this Underworld poster at the Dubnobass anniversary gig in London; still one of my favorite experiences (thanks again to those of you who were there and made feel welcome in the UK!). The poster had been in my flat file for years but is in very good company now.

Picked this up on eBay a couple of months ago. Just framed it (needs re-positioning I know). I remember seeing these posters in my local record shop but it never occurred to me to get one at the time.

To complete the 90's album artwork, here's STITI hanging above my sofa :D (sorry for the glare)
It wasn't meant for framing I guess. Looks more like a test print. 1/4 of it is blank, but I'm going to leave it there. http://markcod.dk/stiti.jpg |

Got a promo cd for the Drift sampler.
However, the print on the cd says it's Drift Episode 1 (Resolve). (but it does play the sampler) ;) http://markcod.dk/driftPromo.jpg |

Re: collectors' corner
I staggered across this the other day. A promo with full length, unmixed versions of every Pizza for Eggs track (plus an indexed but not unmixed Lovely Broken Thing):
https://www.discogs.com/Underworld-A...lease/12816663 To my knowledge these completely unmixed versions of Back in the Fears, Flatz, and Play Pig haven't seen the light of day besides this release. Or in some cases, they've been released but not lossless (like the Japan iTunes Ancient Phat Farm Coat)? And now I've just heard an unmixed Dub Shepherd on Dirty Radio. Does anyone have a little breakdown of what unmixed versions of Riverrun tracks are out there? |
Re: collectors' corner
I don't think there are many unmixed tracks, if I remember correctly. Like there's the singles pulled from RiverRun (JAL to Tokyo, PlayPig, Vanilla Monkey, Peggy Sussed), and then there's 'Food A Ready' on the 'Vexille Soundtrack'
https://www.discogs.com/Various-Vexi...elease/1138498 ...and I think that's it? |
Re: collectors' corner
I love the way River Run mixes together. I prefer when albums flow over individual start/stop playlist style.
|
Re: collectors' corner
This cd is unmixed:
1. JAL to Tokyo 5:47 2. Billy Goat 6:05 3. Peggy Sussed 2:24 4. Dub Shepherd 2:47 5. Lenny Penne 10:25 6. Monkey Wink 3:43 7. Witness 1:50 Total: 33:05 The major difference is that Lenny Penne is much longer :-) http://markcod.dk/LBT.jpg |

Re: collectors' corner
So, I picked up this Dinosaur Adventure 3D promo last week:
https://www.discogs.com/Underworld-D...release/126578 And I inadvertently discovered that there are a couple of unique edits on there. First, really minor, but the Radio Edit is slightly longer in that the final cymbal hit at the end of the song plays to completion. It looks like on all other releases that there is a fast, early fade on the cymbal hit. More significantly, this release has a different edit of Rick's Club Mix. Even though it's very similar in length, it's kind of like the difference between the two Peach Tree edits: elements are re-arranged and coming in and out at different times. I haven't finished a complete A-B comparison yet, but it first diverges at the 1:40 mark when the descending doot-doot-doot line comes in much earlier than it does on the retail version. Based on the runtimes given on all the DA3D releases, I think this edit might be unique to this release. And this is just my gut feeling, but I think this might be an earlier edit, and the one on the retail releases is the final edit. It just seems like the edit choices and sound are more refined on the retail version, the way we know Rick likes to iterate the songs. |

The first difference to check is that at 1:40 on the retail version, the ride cymbal comes in. On this new version, at 1:40, the "doot doot doot" comes in instead. |
