well, i was just reading up on
'new orders' site, that peter
saville had designed some
trainers : http://www.press.adidas.com/en/deskt...spx/tabid-225/

(this coming after he designed
some levis jeans)..

and it reminded me about the
underworld adidas trainers..

i see there are still some available..
and they are pretty decently priced
(around US$100 or so)..

i figured they would be worth a lot
more by now...but i guess since there
isn't as much a demand for them anymore?

anyways, so did most people here already
buy them? how did they work out?
(or do you not wear them..)

Yeah, I got some last year - I paid £112 for them and wasn't going to wear them originally, but they were just too beautiful not to wear. I love them. I love the way the light catches them and makes them shine bright white. I love the random bits of text embedded into them.

Awesome. Really. :D

I also got my pair last year and wear them pretty much every day. They are well worn-out already - the rubber sole has come loose in places. Not really impressed with the quality, but they are bloody nice anyway.

eeeew

those Saville ones are gross...i'm sure he could have come up with some better looking sneakers....

still...its his design, let it be i suppose...i think the UW ones are amongst the best designed of the 35 in the anniversary series...

How many colors were released of the Underworld Adidas?

1/2 the pics i've seen look beige, some look pink, and some look white.

How would i know i'm buying legit ones, not fakes?

I think there is just one version, but because the uppers are made with 3M reflective fabric they can look very different depending on the light.

There've been quite a few pairs available on eBay, and there are also some still available from Adidas specialty shops like Harputs.

I don't think they've been going for high enough prices to make it worth counterfeiting them -- the design is non-standard enough that it would probably be prohibitively expensive to ramp up production for even cheap knock-offs.

They've got reflective material. Normally they are some kind of beige but with light they are reflective white. I've never seen them in reality, though. I would buy them but the biggest ones that pop up on ebay have size 11 and i need 12.

You're being diplomatic. Those aren't considered real shoes for selling, are they?

I don't like them. Once held them in my hands in a shop and was quite disappointed. The idea with the reflective material is cool but personally I don't fancy beige/white, especially on shoes. I have to say I don't like most of the anniversary series shoes.
