probably the player you are choosing to play it in is doing equalization and gain that the browser/quicktime plug-in is opting not to do
if you are playing it with a player and not quicktime itself |
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
I just had to register in order to thank the powers that be for uploading the webcast with the proper version of Bamboo (Glitchcore Meltdown Mix). That made my day.

Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
What Patrick said. You could probably do the same thing with the original AAC by running your sound output through a post processor without the added encoding artifacts of another MP3 encode.

Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
This was one of the better of the recent online shows. Thank you, UW. What I could hear of Bamboo through the flock of robot sheep was awesome. It's come a long way! I liked the Santeago Peal a lot too. I especially enjoy hearing the different versions of these songs. ALAF was a lot darker and very cool, but I prefer the other happier mixes we've heard in the past. Thanks, guys! :o

Haha, no, Karl, I am not Darren's mom :)
This show rocked. |
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
oh dear, Bamboo is utterly unlistenable with all that noise.

Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
It's hard to catch some of the banter when the show's going along live, but when you can go back and listen to it, it's funny.

What are folks using to encode the stream to mp3? I've been trying with Streambox Ripper, but no luck.:o |
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
the QnA bits were hilarious.

Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
Yeah, it probably wasn't the best time to ask really serious questions. The boys were in a silly mood. It was definitely hilarious though.
What powers Underworld? food. |
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008

Well, after listening to the show some more, I must say I'm really enjoying "Telematic Peal" and "Jumping Then Cran". Wish we could've gotten more of Jumping.

Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
Telematic Peal is definitely catchy. It reminds me of Leutin too.

Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
This broadcast was awesome! Thank you team Underworld!
The new version of Always Loved a Film was my favourite this time. I wonder if there will be lyrics... liked the 'big sister' lyrics last time. And i hope the old bass line returns in some form. I really like the direction UW is going to. The ambient bits of this broadcast were great. I hope they'll be released at some point, alongside some classics like Darc, TT (what happened to it?) and ALAF. I can't wait until June! |
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
Can't . . . stop . . . listening to Telematic Peal.
I can see what you mean when you say it reminds you of Luetin, KoS. But it's weird because I really don't care for Luetin at all, but I love Telematic Peal. |
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
This show was fantastic. All the new underworld material was good. Loved 'em all and loved the show. Great to be a fan of underworld.

Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
Telematic Peal is incredible, love the show. UW thanks again.

Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
been humming the Telematic Peal bleeping bassline all day long, can't get it out of my head.
Awesome broadcast ! |
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
I'm in love with the ambient bits from this show.
I can't stop repeating "Jumping then Cran". ( Thank you, Jan, for the mp3s. :) ) I even drew a picture with what I thought the lyrics were. (Only the first line I wasn't sure about.) Karl's voice is so lovely. Ahh and the "Minneapolis" + "Ring Road" mashup...that got me moving and singing. Just thinking about it makes me want to listen to it again. Thankyouthankyou UW for this broadcast...! You made my week beyond awesome. :) |
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
Telematic Peal...This is piece!!!
My small wish: What about that the next broadcast will be more banging, I still want to hear again amazing techno improvisation pieces as we heard in Prague this year before Moaner. I love Underworld! |
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
Telematic Peal...very cool. A bit of menace to this track. I'm glad it's a new animal...from the name, i was afraid it might be a mashup of Born Slippy.Tel Ematic and Simple Peal, a la "Ring Road/Minneapolis" (which is brilliant, by the way!).
Always Loved A Film gets better with each version we get! The latest with that crazy rolling bassline is sooo catchy! Sooo, new bits debuted: Santeago Stoffer Santeago Quatro Telematic Peal Jumping the Cran Santeago Peal Helen's Nails Quid Odd And former friends revisited: Auto Trader Minneapolis (w/Ring Road lyrics) Belfort Novotel Kipper bamboo (v. r52 cr7) Always Loved a Film (r51br6#08) |
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
Hahaha, listen to Karl try to pronounce "drukqs"
|
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
Also, 'Isi' is from Neu '75, not their debut! Very happy regardless to hear that one, although the fact that it was a 'tribute' brings a tear to my eye.

i can't believe so many people could even tolerate that version of Bamboo - intended or not. i found it to be horribly annoying.

i thought it was pretty awesome.
MORE GLITCH PLZ |
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
I love the whole glitch/noise/breakcore sound so to oddly here Bamboo get the same treatment, it put a small smile on my face as I imagined people being utterly shocked by it.
|
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
shocked as in an unexpected turn for Underworld's music? or shocked as in turn the music down and wait for it to blow over? I was in the second pack.
|
Re: Underworldlive.com Radio Show - 4/23/2008
bamboo glitchfest 4-23-08 was both kinda cool and kinda nauseating. I think used more sparingly, the glitchy rapid-fire stutters are very effective. But when they break in every 5 seconds, it kind of feels like someone has shot through the original track with a machine gun!
But then, i had no idea there was a glitchcore scene, so i guess it was educational listening ;) |
