If someone finds an outlet that ships to the US at an inexpensive rate, please let me/us know.
I'm fine to pay the price for product, but when shipping costs almost as much as product, that's unacceptable.

Re: Second Toughest In The Infants Deluxe/Super Deluxe 2015

Have you tried recordstore.co.uk for US shipping? I was looking there for UK and though the deluxe 4cd is £5 more expensive than uw, the basic shipping was only £4 (courier £7) so it worked out cheaper. I just tried changing my address to US and basic shipping stays at £4 and courier £20. This could be me being a muppet but may be worth a look?

I cancelled my uw live order and went for hmv when it was cheap...

For US Buyers: I've always found it less expensive in the US to order directly from Amazon UK as opposed to the Amazon US store for import items.

With the STITI Deluxe Box it works out like this with shipping:

Amazon UK
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0144VVT96
Item(s) Subtotal: £54.16
Postage & Packing: £3.08
Total Before VAT: £57.24
VAT: £0.00
Total: £57.24
Approximately US $89

Amazon US
http://www.amazon.com/Second-Toughes.../dp/B0144VVT96
Item $109.98
+ shipping (if applicable)

*Results may vary.

Re: Second Toughest In The Infants Deluxe/Super Deluxe 2015

I see it as 64.99 at the link you posted and using your shipping numbers it comes out to $105. I'd love to get it for 85, but I seem to be missing something?

Re: Second Toughest In The Infants Deluxe/Super Deluxe 2015

I believe the price is lowered in your cart if shipping to the US (subtraction of VAT taxes, etc.). Give it a try and see.

i came out of the cold juuuust to tell everybody that i preordered through HMV canada (hello, i'm in montreal now). it was 138$ CAD (around 69 quid) - after taxes it'll be 165$ CAD. in amazon.ca is 147$ CAD with free shipping, but the price is without taxes too. i rather skip any internet shopping right now, cos I've heard horror tales about Canada Post and i don't wan't any dent on my precioussss boxset.

it's being published by Universal here.

Wonder what the the odds are that the price drops in the US to equal the UK price? it's really unusual for it to be cheaper in the UK than in the US

The 4 disc boxset is now listed at $99.99 on Amazon. The price must have changed in the few days.

Nuxx (From A4733 / UW Live, Amsterdam / 1994 / Remastered)
Nuxx (From A2254 / Live At Liquid Room 2, Tokyo / 1994 / Remastered)

i am cross checking this with the gigography.

*update, all these are in the gigography

also, noticed this on the official site:

Instantly get previously unreleased track Techno Thing and Born Slippy instrumental when you pre-order, then on release you will get a high quality MP3 of the original album remastered.
so even there it's 'techno thing'... hmmm..

It actually really irritates me that something as simple as this can be misspelled. Surely all this data came from one source? If data is copy and pasted, how can it be misspelled either way?

Perhaps that is an over simplistic way of looking at it. Still, its annoying.

Re: Second Toughest In The Infants Deluxe/Super Deluxe 2015

It might be as simple as spellcheck on one of the submission platforms helpfully "correcting" it.

Well, if we are going to question things.

Is it really born slippy instrumental now?
Instead of just 'born slippy', there's many instrumentals.

So unless it says original instrumental or '...' (which I'm not sure where it originated)

*on a pearls girl single, it says 'original instrumental mix'

Who knows?

On a UK release (that I don't recognise) http://www.discogs.com/Underworld-Pe.../release/63705

it says

Notes
Text on circular sticker on front reads: "Includes original instrumental mix of Born Slippy"
The version of Born Slippy here is a slightly longer version of the original.

Re: Second Toughest In The Infants Deluxe/Super Deluxe 2015

Yeah, sometimes they refer to it as "instrumental" or "original instrumental" or "breakbeat version" just as a way to distinguish it from the far more well-known NUXX version, which most people would identify as "Born Slippy".

As twicezero says, there are actually 2 versions of Born Slippy. One at 8:31 and one at 8:57.

hmm, somehow I've made it 20 years without realizing that there's two different lengths of born slippy. I notice that the 8:31 is the one they've decided to include on the "second toughest" reissue, disappointingly. Is the 8:57 only available on that one "pearl's girl" single?

OH COME ON!

Yea - I also didn't realize till now that there were two different lengths of Born Slippy

damn.

Now... a younger me would immediately start to try and track down that Pearls Girl single...
do I really need to hear that extra 26 seconds?

It's not drastically different, pretty much the only difference is that the last 30 seconds of drum loop goes on twice as long.

Re: Second Toughest In The Infants Deluxe/Super Deluxe 2015

Not sure if anyone is in the same boat, but when I preordered the box set a month ago, my credit card company had me verify that I really wanted to spend that kind of money overseas. I approved of the purchase and all seemed well.

I got a second alert tonight for the same thing and it made me think that I was getting charged twice for the box set. As it turns out, the purchase from a month ago was never actually posted to my credit card. Looks like Townsend Music (the third party seller) waited until shipping the box set to actually charge me.

By waiting a month, it ended up saving me $3 in currency conversions, so that's sort of worth the confusion?
