I don't know, john. . . Unemployment figures can be misleading. It may be that, out of those who desire a job, 10% may be jobless. But if those 10% are only qualified to be scullions and ditch diggers, then the figure is quite misleading.
There are plenty of jobs out there, I need 20 people right now. Pay is US$100K+ per annum. Just left a firm that had a similar need. I know of at least 4 other firms in the same boat. WE CAN'T FIND ANYONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO PROGRAM A COMPUTER! Oh we get lots of those who make web pages. can run a content management server. can execute a database query.
