I had a CASE of wine shipped from Italy that cost FAR less that a measly box set from Italy. it was shipped with care and was a heavy large box. there's no excuse or justification

to me, shipping price is also a part of getting it.

again, i wonder if anyone would still buy the boxset even if the
shipping was reasonable or low.

so, it really doesn't matter overall, because if you've made up
your mind that it is too expensive to begin with, then the shipping
cost wouldn't impact it.

to me, whatever it costs overall is it, period.

Then you resign yourself to getting fleeced for no added value. Yeah, the boxes were expensive, but I justified them by funding different sources (eg Amazon) and not wasting my hard earned on shipping from the UK. I miss your point that it costs what it costs...that's only true if there's only one way to purchase something.

i'm only referring to the 'barbara, barbara' boxset, not the other ones.

originally, it was an exclusive to underworldlive, so there was only one way to get it.

sure, people could look for aftermarket copies now.
but if you want to guarantee getting one, that was the only way to get it.

with the other boxsets, sure people definitely shop around, which i also
do.

The shipping costs weren't $100.

Those costs weren't costs, they were marked up substantially. Whoever fulfilled those orders either made a mistake or wanted to screw nonUK residents. Simple as that. if i can ship a CASE of wine- 12 bottles - from a small winery in ITALY to the US for less than that, I think a simple boxset would be FAR less.
