Has anyone tried to play it with an emulator such as PCSX2? I would try it, but my copy is still sealed and I want to know if it works first.

For those out there who don't want to fork over the cash or crack the plastic of the sealed copy, there are other copies floating around in the electronic ether of the interwebs.

I'll try it out in an emulator when it's finished.

Re: collectors' corner

So I was going through my UW collection and found a Lovely Broken Thing promo cd (not mp3 format) on Chrysalis. I never played it until today, I assumed it would be the version I already knew. Well it's not, this cd does not mix the tracks so it plays the full version of all the tracks.
At just over 33 minutes, it's nearly 5 minutes longer than the mixed version.

Tracklist with times (and mixed version times)

1. JAL to Tokyo 5:48 (5:37)
2. Billy Goat 6:06 (6:02)
3. Peggy Sussed 2.25 (2:21)
4. Dub Shepherd 2:47 (2:36)
5. Lenny Penne 10:25 (7:07)
6. Monkey Wink 3:44 (3:01)
7. Witness 1:50 (1:53)

Lenny Penne has a long in- and outro with the 'rainfall sound' - that's about it. :)

Nice find. To have all the tracks on their own, divided into tracks like that, is great. It's perfect for DJ sets and stuff. Would you mind putting the extended Lenny up? Even if it's just for the long in/outro.

Re: collectors' corner

i'm not really sure where to post this...

but i'm going to do what bigscreensatellite did..

=====================================

YES, the time has come.... there's going to be a
massive sale in a few months......

i've just got to get the rest of my collection and consolidate it first..

i'll be digitizing all my records / cd's / etc....

-----------------------------------------------------

you know what that means...

yes, the -1 collection will be up for sale..

(and if you've been reading other threads, i think
you'll know why)..

it's really time for me to stop clinging to a lot of
stuff that i have (and that means the rest of my
music collection also)..

i've got 20+ years of cds/vinyl/cassette/minidisc etc to sell off..

yeah its 5am, and maybe i'm just feeling crazy..

and i've threatened to do this a few times before..

but i mean it now.... you'll see...

i'm going to give people on the dirty board first choice
of buying things, and you WILL get a fair price on things..

i'm not even worried about making money from it, its just time
to move on..

does this mean, i don't like underworld? or music?

FAR FROM IT............. i'm enjoying their music even more,
and i still listen to music everyday..

i've had the pleasure of being able to collect their stuff for over
a decade now, and its time for others to enjoy it, instead of it
just sitting around collecting dust..

also, i might keep some of the autographed stuff.. but maybe not,
if i get a good offer..

keep your eyes posted on the board in the next few months..

you're going to see some amazing stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hold me to it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! i need to do this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there's a reason behind this (and yes, its partially due to an amazing woman!!)
and NO she's not making me do it, it's just that i've come to a
realization that people are always more important than things !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they'll be a lot of cool stuff there..

promo cd's
promo cassettes
rare vinyl only mixes
rare cd promos
all the live cd's
signed stuff?
imports (japanese/uk)

everything from 'mother earth' all
the up to most recent live cds..

and more...

not as massive as bigscreensatellite,
but still comprehensive..

oh, one more thing about the sale.

i'm giving my brother first dibs on any of
the music i'm selling.

we have pretty similar tastes, and so he likes a
lot of the same stuff..

i already gave him his own bought copies of a lot
of the live shows, and the tokyo 3cd one also... so i
guess mine will be up for auction..

i can put ALL the liveherenow ones together in a big
bundle.. with that.. make it easier to get them, and
i have the japanese releases also..

sigh, so much to organize..........

which reminds me...

did anyone ever manage to extract the audio from the game?
I've never seen it (as I never even owned a PS2), but I seem to recall that someone said that - while some "songs" are background bits (with no discernible end/beginning - kinda like "Kippers" off the old UW live) - there still were some distinct songs

...and I feel like someone said there's a different version of "Ansum" on it too?

Re: collectors' corner

I love my girlfriend very very much... i loved her a lot up till tonight....

Now i love her even more...

She got me an original Rez/Cowgirl 12" vinyl release... at least i think it is one of the original releases from 1993/1994.

This is why i need you good people to inform me of the details if you know of any.

The code is "collect002" and it has a Junior Boys own Label that is Black and White. The Sleve is simply just black... It sounds sublime...its used but not in bits... kinda nicely broken in for a vinyl i guess.

Anyway i was wondering if this was one of the first or if there was a separate UK release before this...

at discogs site i can see that there was a US release and another JBO release with the code "JBO1001" but it says that was 1995....http://www.discogs.com/Underworld-Re...l/master/47346

... im just real curious... but either way im so happy to have this... you should have seen my face!!! And my Girlfriend was so happy i liked it.. THink she got it off ebay for a "reasonable price" as she put it, she was surprised how "reasonable" it was cus she knows her Underworld too.

So i guess... now im sorta part of this ... collectors corner... this being my first real kinda "old" bit of UW history.... or am i?

Re: collectors' corner

I got this one about a month ago:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=390111800041

The 2nd CD is the one with NUXX, Rez, Cherry Pie and Carp Dreams Koi...

It comes in a neat "chunky" box, and the onbe i got is in absolute mint condition.

Its not really a 'test pressing', but i knew that already.

The best thing about this is that the volume is much louder than the original release. No need to pump up the volume on this one...

I am still real curious about this new vinyl i got and am wondering if anyone can tell me more about it...

Rez/Cowgirl 12" vinyl (1993/1994???)

The code is "collect002" and it has a Junior Boys own Label that is Black and White. The Sleve is simply just black...

Re: collectors' corner

Is it this one?

http://www.discogs.com/Underworld-Re.../release/11758

Note, the space in "Cow Girl" on the B-side. And according to Matt's site, there should be "CLOUD HAT REMEMBER THIS" etched in the run-out groove.

There are 4 releases that were labelled Collect 002. The one you have and the pink Rez vinyl are the official ones. And then there are 2 bootlegs. A bootleg Rez pink vinyl, and a Rez with a crappy label.

Wow cool that is exactly the kind of info i was looking for to check the authenticity and all...

It has Cow Girl as two words and the "Cloud Hat Remember This" on the run off.. its quite fine and I didnt notice it until you mentioned it, the A side just has "Collect002 - A1" etched in.

I presume these arnt so much rare as cool to have.. I am just so happy to have something like this... i wouldnt class myself a collector I just love Underworld their music and history so much... to have this is pure joy!

what is this?

Found today:

Moaner 12"

In black sleeve with white "Mercury" sticker on it. Hand written in thick black marker 'UNDERWORLD' on a smaller white sticker underneath written in Thin black marker "M.O.A.N.E.R"

Record label hand written
U.N.D.E.R.W.O.R.L.D
M.O.A.N.E.R

Engraved on side A:
UWGAS A-2-1 (with a thinner 1 after this)

Side A plays Moaner (album version) at 33RPM
Side B has grooves on it but no sound.

Is this rare or worth anything? or not?

V.
