Also love that this looks to be the "kick-off" for the tour!

Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
i've booked a room here: http://www.jdvhotels.com/tomo/
looks very cool. not cheap, but not too expensive either. |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
oh that looks sweet.
Im staying here http://www.carriageinnsf.com/ pretty close to the venue, as thats what i want. |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
Those look like two viable options.
How long is everyone staying in town? For the weekend? |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
i'm staying Friday-Sunday evening, leaving SF around 6pm Sunday. will def. be having tacos in the Mission on Saturday afternoon and spending all my money in Amoeba after that.

Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
after realizing that i've made friends on different messageboards, one of them living within walking distance of the warfield, i've garnered a free overnight stay, so now all that needs to happen is GETTING PAID and then i will most assuredly be there.
FOR BOTH DAYS yes yes yes yes yes yes yes YES. |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
Is the second date confirmed yet? (Please say yes)

Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
i've gone to can-cun a few times and absolutely love it in there. the salsa is spicy as shit, the melon drink is perfect to cool the burn and the atmosphere in there is exactly what i want in a taco shack. i'll try pancho villa too. thanks for the suggestion.

Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
can someone confirm the second night in SF?

Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
i read back on this thread because my boss is harassing me about being available on the 8th and i have to say yes or no pretty soon. and i found that yan *did* say that it was still on, they were just a bit too quick to announce it.
so i just said no and i'm assuming tickets become available for it soon-ish. |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
my feeling is similar to yours dubman. i have heard they were going to do both nights, the 8th, a Saturday, has not been listed for the Warfield yet which leaves the door open for a 2nd UW show. i think they want to ensure the tickets for the first night sell well enough to justify the second night. i think there's prob. a set date and a set number of tix that need to be sold to get the 2nd night. i really have no idea if it works that way or not, but that's what i think is happening.

Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
I still haven't booked my flight or hotel room on this simple matter because I keep waiting for that second show to be confirmed. It's the difference between me flying out on Saturday night vs. Sunday afternoon.
Correct me if I'm wrong SF dirts but the show in October 2002 still had tickets available the day of the show and could be purchased at the Warfield Box Office until around 6 to 7 pm. I wasn't able to make it to the show in the Spring of 03 but did that show sell out prior to the day of the show? |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
i don't think it has to sell out to guarantee a second date. it just has to sell well enough.
|
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
i dont think either the 2002 or 03 show sold out, though the room definitely wasnt empty. IIRC the fillmore show was originally going to be at the bill graham civic auditorium until they moved it due to ticket sales :(
i dont know whats wrong with us. |

but seriously, underworld is very underrated (in every sense of the word) and to some extent are just plain out of most people's scope of awareness especially in a city like s.f. i think a lot of it stems from how the band promotes itself commercially on this side of the globe. a craptacular act like the crystal method (or a similar act) would sell their event out, primarily due to their constant propaganda stirring a mindless buzz which is easy to identify with. underworld seems to be a bit underneath the radar (no point intended) when it comes to shoving marketing down your throat and in a lot of ways that’s a good thing. but in the interim a casual audience will oversight their existence and ability to put on a memorable set. |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
Hi there,
Tickemtaster is still showing general admission (floor) seats for Friday, SEP 7. Unless the whole gig is general admission, which is not common at The Warfield as the upstaris is usually reserved seating, then I would say it's not selling too well. If Underworld doesn't sell out this first date I can't really see the 2nd date selling well at all or even going forward at all, as we hope it would. I mean, I know the 2nd date would be a SAT and all so maybe it will pull more peeps, but sheesh... --Chris |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
tickets for saturday date are going for sale on the 26th at 10AM!

Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
Ah joy oh glorious joy. This news turned an otherwise arduous day for me around a bit and makes me anticipate that weekend so much more.
|
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
so im assuming most of you lot are going to BOTH shows?
im in town for both shows, should i? |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
i'm really trying to. i bought tickets for the first one today (finally), but after some number crunching i'm going to have to sell some goods to feel okay about blowing $140 total on two shows. (plus train fare, and i'll have to get some merch after)
the additional fees all mounted up nicely to an extra $17.50 being tacked on for each ticket. fuckers. anyway, i'll definitely find a way, i'm still just a bit scandalized by the price. |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
i'm def. doing both shows. you know they're going to play some diff. stuff both nights.
|
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
I'll be in town for both shows, kind of have to at this point. I feel it's an opportunity I cannot afford to miss, no matter what the financial cost that will be incurred are.
Saturday morning I will be purchasing my ticket. Booking of my plane ticket will most likely be tomorrow. |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
tix purchased for night 2 in SF. robbing bastards took 25 extra dollars for the 2 tix i bought.
oh well, at least i know they'll play Spoonman and Luetin ;) |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
Picked up four tickets for Sat and two more for Fri (bringing Fri's total to 9) yesterday. But since I went to the Fillmore box office, theres' no service charge. So I've paid ZERO to TicketBastard. Imagine the service charge total on $650 worth of tickets!
Of the 13 tickets I've bought, I'm the only one double-dipping! bh |
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
thanks for offering to pick mine up and not rubbing the offensive charges in my face!
|
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
How much is the TicketBastard charge per ticket? (or charge over the original ticket price)
|
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
$10.50 extra per ticket, $2.50 extra on top of that if you want the 'convenience' of printing at home.
|
Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added

makes a $50 total up to $67.50 |

Re: 2 San Francisco Shows Added
honestly i would have pretty much paid any price to see these shows. just a bit envious of your proximity to the Warfield.
