OK - I got it and I promise I won't hold on to it for weeks and weeks. Well, I'll try not to, anyway. Got some inspiration so I might attack it tomorrow. :)

Man, I keep forgetting about this. Make sure to message me or email me whenever in the not-too-distant-but-probably-distant-for-me future when it's my turn! :)

Re: dirty project :: sketch fly

I don't know when your turn will be, as I let those with the book decide who to send it to.

I can only let you know that your on the book list. ... but i've been tracking the first one so it shouldn't be a problem.

Re: dirty project :: sketch fly

yea - I figured as much... especially with what happened with the "dirty box" (which has been soooo long, I forget what it was all about - save for the name)

and that whole send a mixtape deal, which seemed to falter with the person who was after me (or one more person down the list) -> although that was a really cool 'project' and it whole-heartedly got me hooked to Herbert & Roots Manuva

Re: dirty project :: sketch fly

OK

I know it has taken me ages to get my ass into gear, but it is on its way to California in the morning :D

Yannick 04-21-2007 07:51 AM

Re: dirty project :: sketch fly

i've been asked about dimensions of the book

book #1 is about 5x7...
book #2 is 4,5x6

I shall send the second one this week.

I was also asked if you could prepare stuff in advance and glue/stick it inside, that is ok with me, yet the idea is to respond to some of the content in the book else you could just send me everything without having the conversation i'm trying to achieve between each participant.

let me know if you have any other questions.. the book is now off to california. will keep you updated.

next one is going directly to europe. 10 next name on the list.

whatever happened to following the rules:

'you will have 1 week once you receive the package to do your part and ship it to the next person '

I can understand a little lag, but come people, this should be over and done with by now.

will try to have an update on the project tomorrow
as far as I know the book is California right now.

joethelion 06-06-2007 06:15 PM

Re: dirty project :: sketch fly

yea - why do all these projects, like the aforementioned cassette mixtape deal always seem to start reasonably strong...

then putter out?

Yannick 06-06-2007 11:11 PM

Re: dirty project :: sketch fly

just for the fact that its a long distance thing... it's harder to keep everything going that way as there's less communication verbal and in person about the whole thing, as this will provide result much later it is even harder, but still confident it is worth it.

just be patient, but keep shaving you never know :p

Re: dirty project :: sketch fly

I will be going back to the US in about two weeks and going to be there for a few months or so.

So, if this continues make sure to PM to get my US address and not send it to Africa.

It is a shame that this has not been finished by now because I wanted to contribute to it while I was physically in Marrakech.

I thought that one of the requirements was that you had to be serious about doing this? How many people has the book made it through yet, and ten months have past!

I don't mean to sound like a prick, but EVERY single thing that we tried to do like this has failed.

Yannick 08-29-2007 03:32 AM

Re: dirty project :: sketch fly

oh I filled the second one I was suppose to send entirely... need a 3rd one to become the 2nd one again

holden 08-29-2007 12:23 PM

Re: dirty project :: sketch fly

Yeah, i've moved since i signed up, so my address isn't currrent anymore, either. So, if the book is heading to Holden in Houston, PM me before dumping it in the post! ;)

i know sending things internationally (or even nationally) takes time/costs money, but i agree, some more frequent updates on where the book has been, what's in it and where it's headed would be cool.

Does this book/project even exist anymore? The whereabouts?

It was a good idea and seemed to have a lot of people wanting to contribute, and it would have been really cool to see the finished product. Where did it fall through the cracks?
