Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
i'm excited, too, about the possibility of a new longplayer from the boys.
Yet... not to rain on the parade too much, but we knew the next album was aways off, like early 2007, for a while now. Karl didn't say it's coming tomorrow; he just states the next UW will be after the soundtrack and before some future collaboration with Gabriel. Hopefully it's sooner than later, but i'm not sure what the surprise is from this update:confused: |
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
New vids in the archive today one from Tokyo and one from Sophia.
|
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
The interview Karl posted about some time ago is archived at the Just off the Radar site. http://www.justofftheradar.com/ > archive > choose show #111.
Interview starts at 18:51. Resume on my blog. Interesting interview with lots of news. |
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
thanks for reminding me about that, lloyd!
great interview, indeed, just finished listening to it :) sounds like busy months and years ahead for the boys! i'm excited! |
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
Karl, isnt there a feature to turn off the 'camera noise' of your cellphone: Shutter Sounds?
|
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
Usually putting your phone on "Silent" will negate all sounds, even the camera.
|
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
i can't take the bins out, i'll miss the ebay auction...

The "Dark & Long" from Sophia, is really Dark & Long and then Shake That Higher so we get 2 tracks in one 11min video. The Tokyo video appears to have Karl saying "Tokyyyyooooooooooooo!" rather energetically and then cuts to a 3minute edit of Two Months Off. The Space Shower part of the filename refers to the Japanese TV station. |
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
yes Karl, I have spent looong periods of time going through phonica
...it's actually a pretty decent website - thanks for the link |
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
Today on Uwlive.com the link shows us some artists, one of them is SCSI-9. While I don't know anything about them, I only own the track "Deep & Fax" by them, which is played on Dirtyradio I believe. The track rocks.
|
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
Yes, very interesting link on uwlive today. About SCSI-9, their 2003 album (Digital Russian, which includes Deep & Fax) is very good, the same for their tracks in recent Kompakt compilations...
|
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
Karl says they're screening the film to the public today... I wonder where? I'd kill to get to be one of the people to see that...

I could be wrong in all of this, but generally, when the score is being completed that means the picture is Locked and the necessarily changes and cuts have already been made. Checking out the production credits over at the imdb yeilding a bit of insight, but it appears to be a largely 'independent' production outside of the major studios aside from market distribution to the various regions of the world. Once again, I might be, and probably am wrong on a great deal of this so if any of the parties involved would care to comment that would probably help clarify. I'm sure a press release and some more production info will be coming down the pipe in a matter of weeks and months. One last thing. On that link above to the production it listed Miramax as a production company and The Weinstein Co. as a distributor. Seeing as how Harvey and Bob have split from Miramax and Disney I would which entity is involved and to which extent, seeing as how the imdb isn't always the most reliable source of information from time to time. |
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
ceci n'est pas un album d'underworld

Re: The Underworldlive.com thread

Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
Oooooooh! Spotty Dog!
What have we got for dinner today? Sawdust and hay Sawdust and hay! Only Rick, Karl, Rog, and perhaps //\/\/ would be old enough to remember that, I reckon. ;) |
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread

"Breaking and Entering was excellent. I submitted a longer comment to IMDB that should be posted in a few days, but here is the gist: Minghella's direction is excellent. He is an acute observer of human relationships. He finds the right pace and tone for the story. The acting is top-notch all around. Jude Law gives his best performance. Minghella always brings out the best in him. Juliette Binoche is sublime and Robin Wright Penn is radiant. Rafi Gavron is outstanding and Vera Farmiga and Martin Freeman are very funny in smaller roles. The cinematography is stunning and the score was very modern and elegant. It was a rough cut, and I can't wait to see the finished film when it gets released." "Minghella's got a winner here. Will it receive any Oscar nods? I think Binoche certainly deserves one, though the performances are great across the board. Vera Farmiga is the crowd pleaser, though, when it comes to the movie's humor. She plays a Romanian prostitute whose frank dialogue with Jude Law's character, Will, had the audience in stitches. Her performance is not to be missed." "I think if the recent AMPAS trend for smaller character dramas continues, I could defiently see Breaking and Entering nominated for Picture, Director, Actor, Actress and Supporting Actress (not sure about the placement though, both Robin Wright Penn and Juliette Binoche have about the same amount of screen time. It could be Penn-lead Binoche-supporting or vice versa. A case could be made for each.), Original Screenplay, Cinematography, Editing and Score. But with an August release date it could very well be ignored." August release date?? |
Re: The Underworldlive.com thread

Re: The Underworldlive.com thread
yo karl:
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmast...n_college.html they have tapes of all their programs too, so you can have a whole program of it. (edit: though not sure they can help out on PAL format though). looks they they were major pushers, or precursors, to the indexical mark in art. the act of acting as the art and the presentation of it secondary, as in after the art itself of acting. yes? ritualism! the erased de kooning drawing! (this is a portrait if i want it to be!) post-bauhaus! greenberg (maybe, probably!)! i can also abuse my uni account to nab some info from the art history subscription sites like groveart... |
