well, some US peeps cant do this because its requiring us have a checking account set up. and you all said this wasn't convoluted :P

in order to get myself this set, i had to have my boss pay for it on his Paypal account because for some lame reason, credit card paying peeps have to have a bank account set up in order to purchase. uncool.

in any event, i got mine. but i feel horrible for any that couldnt because of this issue. just one more reason why i would have liked a direct sale.

Whew! That was a close one. Signed into ebay at 11:30 AM, saw that there were only 21 left, but managed to snag one! Had trouble with the S & H part until I noticed in the item description the fee. Almost freaked cuz there were only 5 left by the time I finished process. Many thanks to UW, Yannick & whoever else helped make this possible to the UW community. This set is fantastic! Thank you, thank you, thank you! (Now please come visit the U.S. soon. We miss you. :p )

as far as paypal requiring your bank account, if you have used ebay for sometime (say years) you would already know that some sellers require verified paypal accounts re: when you sign up for paypal, you can have your account listed as verified by listing your bank account (all that is, is a way for the seller to know that they are getting paid directly). this isnt anything new, nor does this policy have anything to do with this particualr auction.

purchased an auction item 2 days prior. no problem. used paypal 2 days prior. no problem.

i paid by credit card via paypal but never had that option, nor have i ever had to put in my checking account info.

nevertheless, i just got someone else to use their account and it worked fine.

look at it this way. if you werent a bigtime seller/business, and you held a garage sale, would you rather get paid by cash/check (re:direct from your bank account) or would you accept credit card payment?

OK, so I'm not too happy about people buying multiple copies... Even if it's for friends of theirs who were in my position (at work, busting my ass off). The terms were one pr head, and clearly many people didn't follow those rules... Too bad, because now I won't have a copy. Nor will I ever get to hear it legally.

Now I wonder, is this recording good enough to break the law for? ;)

THere were only a couple of people who bought multiple copies.
The seller helped me out with the payment system re; the bank. It really shouldn't have affected you purchasing anything though.

If there are any more CD's left, maybe the next (and final?) auction should be a pre-approved bidders only auction, and you have to PM yannick beforehand to get on the list. That way, there will be one copy reserved for each person, and then that's it.

I got mine today, btw. I couldn't stand listening to my dirtyradio.net rip. The quality of the CDs is so much better!
