I'm pretty sure this is a mislabel of either the Woolford Vocal or Dub.

Whoever was doing the labeling for the RiverRun promos had a really hard time keeping the track names and remixers straight, as there are a lot of promos that have them mislabeled.

apparently not much, since according to this:

https://www.discogs.com/Underworld-J...release/779812

it was a 128 kbs mp3. I've also heard (probably from someone here) that it's basically just "more of the same" compared to the shorter length one.

nonetheless I've been trying to find it for years on soulseek (my last resort when I've exhausted all other avenues for legitimate purchase) just to satisfy my curiosity, but like the "R59 live mix" of "beautiful burnout" zero people have it.

It was available as a 256 Kbps AAC once iTunes Plus upgrades came around in 2008.

Does anyone know if the 'barcode' cover titles on each riverrun release actually mean anything i.e. are they real barcodes or just stylised with 1 barcode per word? I think the code for Underworld is the same on them all but I can't see any pattern to pick out each letter. My quite logical brain can't cope with the uncertainty!

I don't think it's a barcode... If memory serves there is one bar for each letter in the title. I thought at first that it was a glitch with missing font information - but probably an intentional design choice.

It's not available in the US, unfortunately. The link posted as a US link is, in fact, for Gambia.

According to Discogs.com this track was exclusive to iTunes. I believe it is available to purchase from other iTunes markets, i.e; India, Mexico, New Zealand, etc...

That's correct.
UW was in a typological phase during RiverRun. See the remix singles. The bar art's a nice touch, too.

3CD is not big enough by far, if you include the remixes.

I'm sure -1 can tell us the total running time. Raj?

I have the full Ancient Phat Farm coat. Jason Roth bought a Japanese iTunes card and bought the EP. There was DRM all over it so it had to be re-ripped to a higher bitrate mp3 but its there. I like it.

There's a picture of the test pressing / press release on Discogs. 10 copies apparently.

Yeah, that discogs entry is what prompted my re-inquiry. There were lots of mislabels on the Riverrun releases, so I'm inclined to believe that that is mislabeled also, and it's really just the Woolford Dub (based on the track timing), but I don't want to possibly miss some ultra-rare remix.

It is just a set of the 5 RiverRun vinyls that UW released in 2006. If you never got them originally, and you want them, this is a really good price, compared to the price they were originally released at.

But they're also available really cheap on the secondary market. Look at discogs.com, and a lot of these 5 records are available for $1-2 each.

These were also available digitally on UW's shop for a period of time.

So here's something interesting... and I'm not sure if any else that had the WAV of Lovely Broken Thing, but halfway into the track it restarts JAL and then cuts off... so I don't have the complete mix in WAV. The mp3 version is complete. Don't know how I never caught that until recent...

Has anyone been able to dig up copies of the unmixed promo releases (Lovely Broken Thing or Pizza for Eggs)? Been hunting them on eBay, Discogs, Soulseek, and other sources for years at this point, so far with no luck.

(Missed the LBT that showed up on Discogs in 2021, apparently by just hours. :-( )

Ditto on this, there's also one for I'm A Big Sister out there too which I'm guessing is also unmixed. These releases are really great, and it's surprising that there isn't a full unmixed version of Riverrun with these copies supposedly floating around.

Re: The RiverRun Project - 10 years later

Hello All,

I recently have been going through a tough time and rediscovered music in a most visceral way.

I'm 35 now and working my corporate job. When I found this thread I made so long ago, I cried very very hard. In ways cathartically I hadn't since my oldest brother died in 2016.

I had forgotten about this thread, about who I was then, almost as if a journal entry beyond the time. Reading it again, validated myself and pursuits in ways I never anticipated.

I was looking for visceral music again. Genuine music. Music that gives one a journey and release - catharsis.

I went to dirty.org first because I haven't been here since... I went back to school in 2016. I've earned my Bachelor's, Master's, work in Finance, Jesus!, I'm leaving it though.

I'm going teach part-time at my alma mater Microsoft Excel to Freshmen. Hopefully building a resum? towards a PhD.

The corporate world is brutal, soulless - without character. I'm always cited as the one with the most contemporary musical knowledge (We have a colleague who has a Master's in Music Education, so she is way more versed in Classical music than I am).

The Riverrrun Project. Yet again I return to you.

@Underworld,

Please release this series on vinyl, vinyl has become lucrative and popular again.

A series such as this on vinyl would be priceless.

I appreciate everyone's time.

Thank you,

Caprice

Did this some time ago, but so far no response.

Anybody else try this, and get a reply?
