Re: _mental_fatigue_

Well...if i can throw my two cents in... its 3.57am for me... and i havnt managed to bet asleep before at least 2.30am in ooo maybe 7 months (leaving out the extreme cases after festivals and the like when not even the most naked of beautiful women would be able to wake me up)...

but i have gradually come to cherish my time at night...its quiet.. and not just literally but mentally... i mean when you think that the whole world is asleep at the one time (at least in your part of the world) then you realise that there is some sort of extra space in the "collective subconscious" its like you have more space to think....and so at night time i create all my music and do all my writing...when i dont have to get up in the morning i get up about 2pm and go do whatever i have to do... i take photos, i get ideas, i have experiences, then the night comes and i process them... and i create as much as i feel necessary.. thats my Black Box...my space.... my place for expression and thinking..

so i like it... and i dont try to change it too much.... i like the silence and the bizarre that only occurs at night...

but boy do i get fatigued... and i understand that aspect...because as much as you may try to excape for most of the day there are always things that will get you out of bed earlier than you should...and its hard to live both lives..... very hard

Re: _mental_fatigue_

just for fun, i sent this to my friends..

Subject: __another_year_and _funny_lines_to_remember_

well, it's been another year to get older,
so now i'm 54, or was it was 63?

i forgot, because i'm too old to remember, and besides
i stopped counting 20+ years ago...

so i do hear a lot of funny things from people (ok, women) lately
(I AM NOT KIDDING, THESE ARE ALL REAL, and do you really
want to know who said them? i would tell you, but you might
be one of the persons!):
================================================== =====
me : (in store getting glasses..)
girl at counter : are you sure you're the one getting these bifocals?!
me : what are you trying to say, i'm old?
girl at counter : errrrrr.....well.....ahem...

me : so you do you remember groups x,y,z
girl : oh yeah, my parents used to take me to see them in concert!

me : (calling girl at home)
girls parents : hello? who is this..
me : asks to talk to girl
girls parents : hey, its some salesman calling for you....

me : have you seen movie x?
girl : was i alive when that movie was out?

me : so yeah, tv's used to be in black and white
girl : really, you mean they didn't have color back then?

me : i was in college when that old game system x came out
girl : yeah, i think i got that when i was about 7

me : yes, this car is still running, its from 1991
girl : you know, this could be registered as an antique?

me : now i know why my friends think i'm a 'freak'
girl : it's ok, we think you're a freak also!

and last but not least,
me : (playing with 2 year old nephew)
nephew : grandpa !

ok, now that i've perfected the art of feeling old,
i'll get back to work..

Not sure if your "problem" is switching back from the nightshift, getting older or being alone...? Anywayz, whenever I'm feeling down I feel that the best remedy is getting together with my best friends and just having a drink, watch a movie or play some games. Then play some Underworld. Guaranteed success! :)

abd 42 isn't that old. Unless you're only interacting with <25 year olds.

errrr..umm mm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

actually, most of the single women i run into nowadays
are in their early 20s !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and also i've been running into a lot of 18, and 19 year
olds lately !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh my GOD!!!.. cool thing was, she didn't care about the age
difference (i think, unless she was lying), and she said if i come
to Toronto sometime, to call her, and hang out !!!!!!!!!!!!

what is this world coming to????

I'm in -1's camp here.

At the risk of making a totally rude over generalization. . .

if they are over 30, and still single. . there is probably good reason.

then again, the same could probably be said about me, right?
