Re: Coldplay,
Okay, you haters. At the risk of verbal slap-downs, i bought this album yesterday, and on first listen, it reaffirmed my love for Coldplay. It's been on repeat all morning. :o
It really is an enjoyable, short and to the point record. Eno's influence is felt with the odd time signatures and instrumental choices, plus several songs are more like passages; themes repeat, songs change significantly in mood and melody. But the guitars are big and the choruses beautiful, especially the closer (Death and All His Friends). Seems i'm not alone: http://www.metacritic.com/music/arti...lay/vivalavida Of course, a few tracks are likely to make folks cringe, whether by lyrics or just Chris Martin's voice. But it's probably the most immediately catchy record they've made, and one of the best pruchases i've made this year. Don't care if you disagree...we all have our guilty pleasures:p |

Re: Coldplay,
you know...
At first, I kinda dug Coldplay - in the sort of "hey, these guys sound a bit like Travis, and I liked a couple of their songs" manner (know what I mean?) then with each further release, I became more and more disappointed... and there was a definite over usage of piano but my g/f just bought their most recent album, and ... it's actually not that bad!!! it was produced by Brian Eno right? b/c there were a lot of elements reminded me of his production style. she burned me a copy of her iTunes download... and I might actually buy a proper copy for myself! |
Re: Coldplay,
never have never will like coldplay - dull forgetable nonesense in my mind...
they have done well, granted but ceratinly not my cuppa tea, Chris's wife was good in Iron Man though and she's looking hot, not that that matters to the scheme of things, but i just wanted to mention it.... |
