Re: Blatent Cry for Survival
Really lovely producions, as always, Prof!
Enjoying them at work this AM. "Apocalyptic Lovesong" starts with a pad sound very reminiscent of one of my favorite tracks by you, "Buried". Crunchy drums and drones definitely fit the theme. I like the phasing on "Plastic Tires" ...and as you've said, this track is a bit more straight-up dance than the soundscapes you're known for. But it's quite coolio. "Sprattle"...great build-up. I'm trying to place what thuis reminds me of. I want to say older Utah Saints or something from 808 State. Not sure how you feel about those bands, but it's a compliment. Anyway, maybe just the mix of analog sounds and the beat that sounds very drum-machine-y gives this an old-school charm. |

If I can trek half way across London on a work day in the pouring rain on a bloody bus because the trains have stopped due to an "incident" at the station, to see you playing live, the very least I expect is a signed copy of the next album. (Which I will buy, of course, but I still want you to sign it :p) :D |
Re: Blatent Cry for Survival
