replies: downtempo / ambient stye sets - almost all replies said this !!!


That doesn't make much sense to me. The live shows are suppose to be explosive and upbeat I thought whereas the more ambient/downtempo/chill was for listening at home. I can't imagine everyone just standing still watching the stage at an UW show...

I suspect the sentiment reflected in that poll result is based on the frustration with the Greatest Hits-style setlists Underworld performed in 2007. The shows were unmistakably banging and danceable, but some fans on this board were nevertheless disappointed. A downtempo set would be a clear antidote, which is why, I think, that answer came up so frequently in the poll.

Thanks for the results1 It is interesting to see what tracks people like and how much they correspond to my own tastes. Go the skewed results! (the mp3s were mine, I think! - wish I had (and could store) 8000 records though...)

On a tape recording i have from the last time UW played T in The Park, Karl says before the set that they want to do a more downtempo set, but when there older. I'd like to see a set with something like that.
