The first time I heard Paper Planes I was immediately reminded of Rump Shaker by Rex'n'Effects, which is awesome

All I wanna do is BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM and CLICK - CHING take your money"

I love this record.

Yeah, I can't get enough of this record. In particular I think it starts off really strong with three fantastic, varied tracks and they just end up coloring the rest of the experience - even the weakest of the tracks, the collaboration with Timbaland, sounds really good when seen in the light of everything that's come before it.

This has been a fuckin' awesome year for music so far.

the production is amazing, but don't you think the "tropical wild jungle" aspect of it is a little sketchy? i get a feeling like she's painting herself as this exotic rainforest warrior for everyone.

I'm not really feeling it that way. When different elements are mixed together properly you get something brand new and challenging ,which is what I think MIA is delivering here. Maybe a better way to say it for me is that if I'm not thinking "Hmmm this sounds like World Music" then mission accomplished!

In contrast to say, I dunno, Paul Simon's 'Graceland' which sounds like the musical equivalent of Michael from the Office going to Jamaica and coming back with a Steel Drum.

I'm calling Bamboo Banger track of the year.

Also, Eike has no sense of humor ;) (I CAN STILL SE YOUR POST LOL)

Edit: I fucking love on Hustle the "THINK HE'S TOUGH, COME TO AFRICA" - fuck yeah.

are you serious? bambo banger CAN'T be the track of the year. There is fantastic stuff otu there, and this is pretty good, but it is no where near as good as a lot of other stuff that came out.
