It's like Daft Punk and Out Hud had a child while fucking to LFO, Kraftwerk, and M.I.A.

I like it!

this is not at all what i look for in noisy dirty electro*. but anyway, it's kind of samey isn't it? and a bit too glossy for my taste, although i guess that fits with the neon sunglasses aesthetic. i'll keep listening though.

*something closer to the UR mix "Vibrations".

i've been listening to this a lot more. i think i understand some of the appeal -- the melody (of all things) is pretty compelling, and all the cut-up noise verges on abstract AND rude. the chunky song structures lend it a somewhat epic feel. but, i feel like the distorto-midrange antics also cover up for some really boring rhythms. and it just comes across as kind of pigheadedly obnoxious. i feel like a much more interesting rhythmic backbone underneath the cut-up sounds would make this a better record ... almost as epochal as Justice seem to think they are -___-

i find it almost impossible to listen to on headphones. it does well w/ my laptop speakers....

pigheaded is a good word for it. so is chunky. or even clunky. i think i meant more of that than dirty.
album is complete abuse on headphones. almost as much as year zero.

which of course plays a part in me liking it so much. still my favorite of this year.

I really don't like this album one bit, and might even grow to hate it. How much of my ire is based on issues peripheral to the actual music on this thing? At least a little bit, but I don't like it. These days anything with a lot of mid-range distorto-blare is a big no-no to me.

why do we still care what indie kids are into? i might remind you that indie kids also like minimal house.

EDIT: i was responding to a deleted BLD post, not Tyler

am I the only one who could give two shits about the indie kids?

I mean - if there's a track that I dig, I listen to it

and yea - the Justice album does have some flaws, but it's still pretty damn good, especially for a first album

...SIGNIFICANTLY better than Simian Mobile Disco's 'album' which clocks in at roughly 30min

Imo opinion any music worth listening to should be made with drunk idiots in mind! But usually indie kids is not what I associate with drunk idiots really.

indie kids are going to drink until they're stupid just because you said that.
