The battle at the end was cool, mainly the part where you see Beast jumping which was right out of the comic book. Other than that, I think it was disappointing. They seemed to try to pack too much into it.

I was hoping that there would be more Xmen fighting though. Like if you read the series when Jim Lee was illustrating it, those huge Xmen posse's is what I was expecting. Where was Nightcrawler? Where was Gambit (he was listed in the database on Xmen 2)? Where was Jubilee? Too many Xmen died in this too.

On the other hand, did they show the Ghost Rider trailer where you guys saw it?

There was no competence or emotion in the movie that it just fell apart to pieces for me. The dialogue was some of the most trite, predictable shit I've heard in a movie, and like someone else said, they tried packing in way too much for such a (relatively) short film. Even Hugh Jackman fell short of his usually great performance of Wolvie. I don't care if they follow the comics to a "T," but I'd like the movie to make sense, the dialogue to sound natural, and the characters to be believable.

**spoilers**

I mean, how long did it take them to realize that Scott was missing? After Logan found his glasses and when they found Jean suddenly alive, shouldn't he have stepped and asked someone, "Uh, where's Scott?" Not that they were great buddies in the film, but fuck, if Jean suddenly comes back from the dead (not a normal occurence yet in the films), that should be a huge ass red flag. And wouldn't the Professor realize that Scott was dead since he was one of his best students?

And why didn't they just use the cure on Jean? Distract her long enough while she was in her indifferent daze, and have Wolvie stick the needles in her. Same for the dangerous mutants they were transporting (Mystique, Juggernaut, Multiple Man). Why didn't they use the cure on them if they were so dangerous?

I personally hated how they handled all the deaths. Scott is first of all treated like a B-lister throughout the franchise, and his death is made known via a few passing sentences. Jean's dual deaths both seemed forced as well as the Professor's, like they were mining for sentiment.

Ugh, I could go on for a while, but unlike some people have suggested elsewhere, I do think a Phoenix story and a cure story can coexist in one movie, but not when it's so compressed. I don't see what people like in this movie.

Do we still have the invisible spoiler text? Anyway, I'll do it the old fashioned way.

*SPOILER*****

Remember that scene early when the Professor was showing the video with Moira MacTaggert to his students? It had an unconcious guy in there and they were talking about transfering another mind into his. From what I understand, at the end of the credits, Moira turns around and says, "Charles?"

a cheesy clip where you can hear people talking over the movie...but it is the last clip in question with Moira McTaggert and "Charles."
