Re: JAL to Tokyo iTunes - Japan

Well, I tried to create an account at iTunes Japan and ran into the credit card problem. One would think there would be a way around this, as plenty of Americans live there for a short time, being in the military and such. If I discovery a way around this, I'll be sure to post.

There is, and if you had read the link that I provided in my first post you would have seen the instructions.

Yes i am positive. If you have purchased from the JList you will also have received instructions on how to use your card.

On their website it says:

Once you have your iTMS Japan code, follow these easy steps:

1. Load iTunes on your Mac or PC, and choose the Japan store from the popup at the bottom.
2. If you've already got an account in your home country, sign out by clicking on the Account button in the upper left hand corner.
3. Click the iTunes Music Card link, and enter the scratch-off number printed on the back of the card.
4. Create a new account, using any address in Japan you like (you may use ours as a dummy address if you like). You can do this in English or any language that's supported by iTunes.
5. Enjoy purchasing great music and albums from Japan's iTunes Music Store!

This is the text on the page that I linked to in my first post and in fact in a quick search of the forum, I found a thread devoted to the very subject dating back to December 1st.

Now, the instructions have been printed twice on the forum and so has the link to the JList page. If you can't work it out now, you're on your own.

Re: JAL to Tokyo iTunes - Japan

I think I got it now. No need to create an account if you click on the iTunes Music Card link.

So here is my dumb question #2. When I go to the Underworld forum, I only see 3 pages of threads. When I was searching for this iTunes question, I assumed incorrectly that older threads must get deleted after a period of inactivity and I visually searched the 3 pages I could "see" for this topic. Obviously if I had used the search feature, I would have found the older thread. My question is this: Is there any way to "see" all of the older threads or are they available only through a search?

Sorry for wasting anyones time if you find my questions dull...

Well, this procedure worked great. Just used a random Japan address for the address.

Listening to the full version of Ancient Phat Farm Coat now. It's great, as I knew it would be.

BTW, rather than going the Jlist route, which only has ¥2500 (and up) gift cards, I found a seller on eBay who sells ¥1500 gift cards; perfect for the JTT EP. Just do a search for "iTunes Japan"

There is no way to save these outside of iTunes, is there? Aside from burning and ripping them.

depending on what system, and software you use..

you can run another software that captures the
sound while you are playing it, and then write
that to an mp3/wav file...

but its easier to write a cd and re-rip it..
