Re: what UW song should i play at a college semi-formal?!?
does anyone have a shortish edit of born slippy they could share? ysi/email (damuma(at)gmail(dot)com). i'd like to play that and i know there's some trainspotting fans (one of the plays at the summer drama festival is gonna be trainspotting, so it would be appropos, too)
i think moaner is a little too dissonant to go over well.. heh. |

If you don't mind a 13 minute song, use my Rez/Cowgirl mix! :D

Start off with Mmm Skyscraper I Love You since I think the vocals might grab people more. I'd throw in Cowgirl somewhere in the middle, maybe a little Two Months Off, and I agree with Moaner.

I'm kinda considering throwing on Jal to Tokyo (edited from the lovely broken thing mp3).. it's shortish and fairly accessible I think.

Just fire up the European Club Gig and yer done ;) .
Born Slippy.NUXX is pretty obvious. Once you get the party going (which is very hard though), you can get away with a lot of 4/4 UW tracks; Think Cowgirl/Rez/KoS/Push/Moaner. Songs I wouldn't play if I were you; Kittens or Pearls Girl, for example. EDIT; But let me warn you; Pay close attention to the crowd. A lot of ppl do not care about good music and just want to hang out with friends. They won't like it if you force your musical taste down their throat. Just a warning :) . |

I think it depends on what part of the set you are thinking of dropping stuff.
Pig and Dan's mix of Play Pig strikes a perfect note for early/mid-set imo. Setting the right tone, getting the atmosphere building. The "classics" like Nuxx/Cowgirl/Pearls Girl need to be more towards the end of a set, when everyone is up and going for it. Moaner would make a superb finale (as indeed it does live) |
