i dont see how this can be fairly distributed outside of private messaging, which is isnt terribly reasonable to expect.

sooo...

I guess.... or - well. they could just send out an email to memebers and like give a code to access a section of the UW live page.

Sure - you'd still have to 'compete' with every member... but at least - it'd ONLY be dirties that would be able to get the discs - as they'd get the forwarded/blanket email

and that would be easy

- and this was done before - sort of when Bowie played his shows at the Roseland Ballroom. Everyone that was a member of his webpage got a chance at two tickets, and it was first come / first serve, but only members

would this only be ebay uk? imuh bit confused here.

why can't we sell them on Dirty.org to the people that want them? why do we have to go through Ebay? why bother asking how many to list when you can just hit us up directly here?

why the round-about method of distribution?

:/

If I might make a suggestion... Put them up on eBay with a pretty vague description (or at least a pretty vague title) and then post here with exact details on the title/description so that people here definitely have a shot at them.

It could be that eBay is the only route that comfortably fits with the way that they were originally offered (to the concertgoers)?

It doesn't matter how they get out, really, as long as they end up in the hands of the hardcore dirty.org UW fans who've been longing for them. :)

i think the problems lies in the fact that once they go up on ebay for $15, unless you are actively checking dirty, you have a VERY low chance at getting one. Its only gonna take one person to realize they are available and buy 4 or 5 of them.

are we going through Ebay just for ease of payment handling?

If you read Yannick's original posting you would have seen the following statement:

As far as payment is concerned, no details have been released so don't jump to conclusions. It may well be ebay.co.uk and paypal but it may not. It may just be private paypal payments. It may not. Until then, there is no point in speculating. Its your lucky day, be happy :)

They are £15 + postage.

Count me in too! I've been keeping my eyes open for this since I heard about it. I came *so* close to paying far too much for this set but I've been trying to be patient and wait for the rumored Ebay sale.

If you put up a title something like "Underworld Souvenir Copies" (or, even better, "Dirty.Org Concert Souvenirs") with a description along the lines of:

An original audio memento from the first Nipponese festival performance in 2005 of the artists responsible for the Riverrun Project, recorded on three digital compact discs.

then it's likely that your average eBay user (and, more importantly, your average eBay profiteer) won't catch on until after they've all been purchased by Dirty.Org users.

I'd just rather not see it held up because there isn't a ready alternative to selling them through eBay. Adding more e-commerce choices to a web site is much easier said than done.

I did read Yannicks original post, which is why i asked my question. Sooo it appears that we are using ebay. it also appears that the goal is to get them in the hands of Dirts. Sooo why in the hell would we use ebay when we could just do a dirt-direct sale? why add the middleman in? it seems to me that a lot of people would like to purchase these cds yet are not so thrilled about sitting by dirty.org refreshing just to get an advance notice of when they are released on ebay.

nah man. if they are using ebay, then they could use Paypal, no? i guess i was also thinking about the ecommerce they had set up for the books and tshirts - kinda forgot that its no longer there (is it?)

and just to clarify, i was only asking why we were using ebay. if its the only means to sell these discs, then its all good. although, thats what Paypal is there for if we wanted to do direct sales. just seems kinda silly that we have to await a post about discs goin for sale and then hop over and get em! silly, but also kinda speak-easy-ish. but id take direct over speakeasy :P
