Ehh, maybe the beat has a similar skittering feel, but other than that, i'm not really hearing much that reminds me of "49 Percent".
Actually, the more i listen, the relaxed vibe and Karl's very fine singing remind me of his "Edgeland" solo album.

(side note - i really loved Royksopp's first two LPs, and also "Senior", but otherwise, they became way too pop for me. Kind of like with M83....great moody electro/soundscapes, then they decided to become 80's synthpop. Miss the early magic, not the latter day gloss of both of those bands).

Not feeling it!

It’s not bad, but the beat of it is dopey enough to scramble the rest imo (not dissimilar to live drumming but worse). Not into much of ep3 so far

But I’m also not pressed about it. I don’t think it’s really “worse” than the rest, just a version that’s not for me

So, the film version and the download version are actually different.

They first diverge at 1:20 when the Film edit has an additional 30 seconds in an extended intro. They then converge again, except for a couple sound/vocal effects that are only present in the download version at 4:19 (download) and 4:56 (download). They then diverge again at 5:21 (download)/6:00 (film) when the beats drop out on the download version until they come back in at 5:52 (download) and they reconverge.

At 8:51 (film), there's a high-pitched whine for a few seconds in the Film edit that is not in the Download. It then diverges again at about 9:12 (download)/9:44 (film) for the outro. Although the outros sound similar, they are not identical, with the film outro being a few seconds longer also.

I was watching the video earlier, and had that feeling, but I could not put my finger on it. Will download it and check it. Interesting.

[Edit]
Ok, so, yeah. Strongly diverging!

Top is the video edit, bottom the download.

Overall I really enjoy the track. Particularly the "conversation" between Karl and Rick. This really is something you can only have after over 40 years of working together!

I have to say that this one has quickly become one of my favorite Underworld tracks...

I think their own 8-Ball comparison is apt... The drum programming is sublime and Karl's lyrics are beautiful and sentimental. They remind me of his lyrical approach on Edgeland.

Loving it!

Love the video & pointing out all the places I recognise - including my London office I work at occasionally :)

Both Dune & Speedtalk feel like “outtakes” from Edgeland. Clearly not fitting into the aesthetic of that album...but lyrically connected, with Underworld “electronics”.

Enjoying them both

kinda love the 'studio chatter' becoming part of the lyrics. always liked how "If Rah" began with "yeah...little bit more...that's good"
