Pigs are short.

Edit: Gah, I already made that joke. Although it's not really a joke, it's the reason why.

I'm always up for pix of little plastic-y rubber-y toy friends!
Recently visited Italy - in Venice, the street merchants were hawking something similarly blobby and cool out of plastic bags. i wanted one, but the missus said, no way...any anyway, the guys kept scrabling from the police. Contraband plastic friends.

Always great to see the found photos on UWLive. Anything can be art if the mood is right.

Just what is it Karl , with you and "bad news"?
What do expect the media to be: a kind of 'Truman Show'?
Just really try and imagine, just for a second, what a newspaper front page would look like if it carried just good news.
There are wars and earthquakes and death and suffering. It's actually
what we humans are far more interested in (when reading about other humans) It's called "human interest" (a term thought up by the evil media of course). Your neighbour going on holiday with his family to Spain, having a wonderful, coming back healthy and tanned, is dull. Your neighbour going to Spain and being murdered in Ibiza by "Tongy" is much more exciting to read about.
There's blood on that tissue, on the floor of the train, Karl, not Eau de Cologne.

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread

jeez - who "rattled" your "cage"?! actually, ''bad news'' isn't the same as ''human interest'', and not all "news" you read is "bad", necessarily. maybe calm "down" a little?

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread

there can't be good news without any bad news. that doesn't justify how media conglomerates temper with any of the current affairs in the world. too much is at stake for too many powerful people. the media has the power to control. TV is the mass religion, it doesnt take a genius to figure that out.

on the brighter side of life...our news anchor talks about 'Who Stole the Web Shop mystery' and that's good news

could say that it's it's spirit and approach of the news more than wanting to will the content out
but that'd be useless because this post is basically one big lol.

I'm actually feeling a bit of withdrawal, with no (or minimal) diaries and no Twitter updates. At least Facebook is working.

Is this the thread where we talk about the updates on the main site?
I never do that, but the CSN youtube clip still blows my socks off.

For those of similar leanings check out the C&N Another Stoney Evening, ignore the lukewarm AMG review.

This clip has sparked another CSN and related revisit.

I don't think its been on the UWlive, but Twitter/Facebook seem to suggest that they are trying something new tonight. New tracks would be ace.

rick posted something about that in his twitter, but i guess three song titles don't say much: you do scribble, bamboo, strumpet.

strumpet is one of the songs i'm dying to hear, the snippets around youtube aren't enough.

I have to ask.... what kind of Antonov does UW use to haul their gear around? I'd guess an AN-74 but an AN-124 or AN-225 would be badass! :D

Oh yes. How "badass" that would be. To take a fat military transport plane from the country where they've only recently banned the gay pride march (Serbia) to the the home of the murderers of Chechnya. How "baddass" indeed. Oblivous with bells are you, or just a fan of Ted Nugent?

Seriously. You think the fans are to blame for the actions of their shit politicians? You think the people of these countries should be prevented from seeing their favourite band because their governments are less than perfect? Take a look at the UK and the US lately?

Dork.

Guess that's why I love Underworld so much, the whole thing is so darn friendly. In true Brit style you'd rather condemn your own politicians building gazeebos with public money rather than seem impolite, and criticise another country's rulers for continuing a century of relentless murder and persecution. You have the best and most impartial news service in the world, yet you complain about the "bad vibes" it spreads. Jeez, it really is a challenge to provoke you guys.
I'll just have to try another tack: is that a quilted jacket, I see, Karl?:D

there's loads of other places for you to do your condemning and whatnot without bringing underworld into it.
thats what i love about you yanks, always trying to ram your opinions down everyone's throats.

Can we keep the discussion about the band, please? The last time I checked they did not approve of murder and persecution, so there's no reason this should be an issue here.
