Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
they have their songs and lights-strategies on index cards. and they rearrange them before the show as they try and plan out the evening.
ie: the first card has the light-sticks standing up, and later on in the list it shows them all stagged and laying on each-other. |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
We were first shown the Brotherhood last year:

they were playing some sort of Pokemon style card game themed to Batman (Moaner...duh)! Thanks for the insight guys! Darren: "Rick, I challenge you with my 20-point Born Slippy Original!" Rick: "Oh yeah? Well, I counter you with my 50-point Dirty Guitar! Haven`t played that one live in years. Take that!!!" btw - The only cards I can read are "REZ ?" (3rd down from the right), "Two Months Off" (4th down in the column with the yellow circle), and "King of Snake" (to the right of Moaner). Hmmm...what is the "yellow circle"? Ball drop maybe? |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
The big yellow circle is the round video screen they have now.
So going across the top of the cards it shows what the stage setup looks like during each stage of the show. The first part of the show has the Inflatables standing vertically next to each other to form the video screen, then the round video screen comes down in the second part of the show, then the Inflatables come back in the traditional haphazard arrangement. I'm not sure what the big black bar above Moaner indicates. The one immediately under the circle reads "You Do Scribble." And the first one under the vertical Inflatables looks like "Nu Train". Underneath "Rez/Cowgirl", I think it's "Juanita". The cards might have BPM numbers written on them too. This is probably the setlist for Glade, but I wouldn't know since NO ONE HAS POSTED IT YET. |

Nu Train King of Snake Between Stars Born Slippy NUXX I think this is obviously not complete, but who knows. Maybe Underworld had a shorter spot, but highly unlikely! |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
That just what Mike put together based on our YouTube findings.

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
The site is down!
I`ve heard that there are some pretty exciting things coming, so whether this is, or isn`t, part of the process, my eagerness to see the final result is just the same :D |

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
here's what i can gather : a. the vocoder is back! rock! b. the hard dancefloor beats and bass are back! and based on todays underworldlive pic c. the mesmerizing spoken word pieces will once again penetrate songs, albums and interstitial moments between tracks and singles. beauty!
all three of these things i missed on the last disc. me need new music now. see you at hardfest (s)!!!! RIDE! |

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
just did not feel like it was given a starring platform like it had on all the other albums. i always feel that texturally, when it's used, it's a side personality almost separate from hyde..... something, a voice, that seems to be coming from a city itself at night . . . . whispered along metal tracks as trains carry on or empty streets as some loner does a walk of shame.
never felt that presence on the last album and felt it could have had a great place. so maybe not vocorder per se but the personality behind the vocorder on cups say and not just karl's voice filtered. |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
A glimpse into Studio Hyde today, hm?

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Nerd request:
I've been reorganizing all my Underworld music files and was saddened to discover the tracklisting pages for old web broadcasts are down. Does anybody happen to have the graphics associated with the archived broadcasts? I'm looking to add them to the sound files. |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
The versions of the broadcasts on the RTSR tracker have all the associated graphics and artwork for the broadcast attached to the tracks.
|
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
That'll work! Thanks.

that "telegraph" pole riddled with staples looks amazing. good photo too.

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
I still don't understand why various numbers are written next to a track on those cards when UW are picking a set.
|
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Well, bottom left number is BPM. Bottom right is the song key. The top number must be the number of the song in the sequencing software or something. That is, the song number matches from night to night and doesn't change. For example, in today's picture, Dirty Epic is 30 and Kittens is 31, the same numbers they had on the Vegas setlist.
And they had 60 songs sequenced after Malta and Spain earlier this year. With "Diamond Jigsaw" and "Between Stars" being numbers 66 and 67, respectively, that's about right. Anyone wanna go through the setlists and match songs to song numbers? |

Does Adidas just ship them like a footlocker full of shoes, and people on the team just go grab a new pair whenever they like?
