Re: collectors' corner
Does anybody remember that EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING promotional video from waay back, before the DVD came out? It was kind of an infomercial with a British female voiceover explaining all the features of the DVD. I forget where that was made available but I lost it years ago and just remembered it.
Anybody know where to find it, or feeling kind enough to share it with me? Thnx. |

Re: collectors' corner
Thanks!
Wow, that is sending me back. My friends and I used to gather around my old black PowerBook G3 and watch the QuickTime vid again and again before the DVD came out. Does anybody remember how the video was originally distributed? Was it on Underworldlive? Did that site exist yet? |
Re: collectors' corner
It was distributed on a promo with the cat. no. JBO1014942P.
It is listed here: http://bigscreensatellite.co.uk/interviews.htm The video itself is a quicktime movie (bad video and audio quality by todays standards) and is nearly 100 MB. |
Re: collectors' corner
i think i might have a copy of this for sale... i'll check

Re: collectors' corner

Re: collectors' corner
Found this today. Check out the Live CDs. From the description and what I can make out from the picture, these are the same ones as the Live Here Now CDs, but these look pretty damn cool.
The Seller is NOT 100% sure these were made in a Factory...hmmm? Still, they look great. http://cgi.ebay.com/Underworld-Live-...QQcmdZViewItem |
Re: collectors' corner
Nah, they look like crap, tbh. It's a shame the bootleggers are out in force. I wonder if they are commercial bootlegs, or if it's just homemade by this seller.

Re: collectors' corner
You can see printer stripes on the covers, I have a feeling they are copies of the LHN stuff from the description probably burned from MP3 acquired from some place or other...

Re: collectors' corner
I bought a SALT TANK Live CD from this seller years ago and it was a POOR copy!
Printed covers and labels on CDR... When I complained he said that it was the original from the band (limited to 500 copies) but within the last few years he sold at least 10 more of his homemade Salt Tank cdrs... So better beware! |

I've reported him, they are the first five LHN shows and why is Darren Emerson on the artwork for a 2007 tour?

Re: collectors' corner
This is my first post here and I have a collectors question. I have a CD I made of of a dat that was given to me in 91 or 92 that has as far as I can tell 3 unreleased UW tracks. My question is has anyone ever heard of these 3 tracks? They are "Big Meat Show" "Organ" & "Can U Feel Me" I am an avid collector of UW music and I have very close to a complete collection of tracks and remixes. But in all my searches I have never run across any mention of these.

More details. Are these live or studio recordings? What's the source of the DAT? Wanna post them for us to hear?

Plagiarist!

Dirty Epic 9:58 Jamscraper 8:54 Big Meat Show 6:43 MMM Skyscraper I Love You 13:01 Organ 6:19 River of Bass 9:06 Dark And Long 7:28 Dirty Fuzz 9:59 Can U Feel Me 4:25 Goodbye Mother Earth 7:07 As you can see most of these tracks ended up on DNBWMHM, and are the exact same mixes. Jamscraper was on the skyscraper single (which I was never able to find on CD, & Dirty Fuzz appeared on a later single as Dirty Epic (Dirty Guitar Mix). That leaves the other 3. I always assumed that they would eventually appear on a single somewhere, but they seem to have been forgotten. While they fit in nicely with the other tracks I always felt that they are all kind of the missing link between the 2 different incarnations of the band, which is why they may have been shelved. I can't imagine that I am the only one that has these, so I finally decided to post this info to see what anyone might know. As far as posting the songs, I have never done that so any help as to the best way to do that would be appreciated. |
Re: collectors' corner
Could they possibly be versions of "The Hump" or "Why Why Why"?
|
Re: collectors' corner
one way is to get someone to transfer the DAT over
to a computer, as WAV files.... and then convert those over to mp3 etc.. if you have a DAT and a soundcard on your computer, you should be able to hook the stereo connections up to it, and use an audio recording program to record it, and save the files.. from there, there are several options to posting the files, to many of the free file sharing sites, like zshare.com or megaupload.com , etc, etc.... you can pm some of the people for more advice if you are having issues.. good luck, it will be interesting to hear those other tracks.. later -1 |

A lossless format like FLAC is recommended. MP3 is suboptimal. Thanks for your efforts, I'm looking forward listening to those songs! |
Re: collectors' corner
He said they were on CD not DAT (just sourced from a DAT). That makes it easy. You can just use Exact Audio Copy to rip the CD. I recommend ripping to FLAC. Here's a tutorial:
http://filesharefreak.com/tutorials/...-with-eac-099/ You can then post the tracks a few at a time to file-sharing sites, such as Rapidshare: http://www.rapidshare.com/ Or, if you're comfortable with BitTorrent, you can upload the whole CD to a bittorrent tracker, like the RTSR one as Jan suggests, or a public one such as The Pirate Bay. |
Re: collectors' corner
Are these instrumental tracks? If not, can you make out some of the lyrics?

Ring Road promo single
http://cgi.ebay.de/Ring-Road-by-Unde...713.m153.l1262 This seems to be the PIAS promo with cover art and jewel case, that went for 30€+ the last few times. I ordered it and will report if this is the case. |
