Re: Good Day Today
Finally just caught up on this whole controversy/correction now. What fun! :D:D The song's okay, but I think it could really stand to go somewhere. It acts like it's going to when the synths pick up just shy of a minute in, but then it just returns to the same loops. And adds the gunshots. I'm guessing that those gunshots sit more cleanly in the mix if we were to hear an un-compressed version of the song.

Did anybody listen to Morning Becomes Eclectic today? Any further info?

Re: Good Day Today
That's aggravating. It really does sound like UW. As much as Ring Road or so many other songs. Now I want to know who it is. I asked Jason on his Twitter. We'll see.

I asked him too but no reply. Still waiting for further info from Chrysalis.

Re: Good Day Today
Ow wow, i love this! Partial mystery solved by learning it's not UW, but who is it really by? Some kid in his bedroom? I'll fall over if it turns out to be by Mr. & Mrs. Christmas ;P
The thing is, despite what many of us thought was a very large departure in style (yes, there are percolating chords and an electro beat and vocoders, but let's be honest, none of them are up to the quality we expect in terms of UW production -and those gunshots? I still wondered how Ricky could sleep at night putting them in)...it's actually a very catchy song, so much so that me and others were willing to suspend disbelief. I actually really want to know who this is by so i can hear more from them. Still, no harm no foul to listeners on either side of the "this is/isn't Underworld" debate. It was an interesting week, for sure. And "Scribble"'s still tops. |
