The site is down and not working....this is either very very bad.... or very very good....

they never said they will be closing the site for a period of time as they usually do when they are changing things... but it could be that they are adding something new? maybe? perhaps?

Either way im sure things will be back to normal soooooooooon

Sometimes it just goes down for a while. Probably when aNt trips on the power cord after a night out.

Wow! That's a surprise!
Quoting ABC's Lexicon of Love I mean. I doubt a better POP record was recorded during the 80's (excluding the output of the plastic-nosed one of course).
If you aint never bothered, then I thoroughly recommend it. It's good in the car and then you don't have to look at the cover.

Talking of the cover. Martin Fry is wearing a metallic shiny jacket I believe...Hmmm

The March one was postponed until a later date TBD. With the touring, work on the album, and Pure Scenius coming up, it might be a while though. Who knows, they could squeeze one in though.

Wouldnt be a bad way of letting the fans hear some of their latest work.. in a nice studio quality version, rather than having to sieze it from the clicks and clacks of a bad phone video at one of their festival spots...

...also would be cool just to get a show..something new after a long hard winter!

Happy Belated birthday indeed Karl.

Here's hoping that the show here in Toronto in August provides adequate reason to celebrate! 2 of my friends will be sharing a birthday that night & I am rallying a huge contingent to see the long overdue return.

Fingers crossed and begging for a massive 3+ hour epic of a show.

PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH
The chain thanks.

Anybody notice that the book they ordered copies of today was called "The Floating World" and that the Tokyo performance of Simple Distinctive was subtitled "Floating Worlds"?

I think its based on yukio-e (spelling???) which is a traditional japanese concept that is applied to their style of art and calligraphy... often used to describe the open spaces on Japanese prints...

...a while back i remember reading something karl said about his love of japanese art and how he read a lot about it in books as a child/young artist... and its clear to see the influence of monochromatic caligraphy in the Tomato Art group works and interest in typography...

See here:

http://www.darktrain.org/dirty/forum...ead.php?t=6393

The Floating World is a book by John Warwicker that's been delayed since like 2004. For a while, there was a promo movie for the book on the Tomato site, and the background music was "Simple Distinctive".

dark and long train and a smile tretched allover my face. one of those moments to share energy with all

and in compliance with the ongoing topic, the preview of the book looks incredibly good. the content and volume more than justifies the price

Wouldnt mind knowing what some of that advice Mike was giving to the artists he is working with in Africa.. I'm always afraid im not going to be able to protect my music, and im conflicted between wanting it to be heard and not wanting it to be stolen...

from the UWLive shop:

Quote:

Change is coming.....

Over the coming months, we're going to be working hard to get a new site and new shop built and online.

Something younger, fitter and faster.

As part of the rebuild, we have to close the existing shop and stop new member registrations at the end of May 2009. So, it's your last chance to buy things for a while - and to help you get going, we've taken 50% off all t-shirts.

Form an orderly queue and no pushing at the back there please.....

So, are "Diamond Jigsaw" and "Between Stars" new UW tunes or things they've been listening to? Or are they old tunes renamed. Questions questions!

"Diamond Jigsaw" has been mentioned before on Nov. 29, 2008 diary. "Between Stars" seems to be new "fresh up the pipe".
