I think I asked before, and I realize its a bit of a untoward thing to request, but...
Is anyone who got the _physical_ set willing to share the PDF of the book? I bought the iTunes version of the box set, which frustratingly doesn't include the PDF.

this may have been talked about, but my version of Dexter's Chalk has what sounds like lyrics missing in the Drift Album version. right before "we all fall down" there are lyrics that were in the weekly release that aren't there in the official release. it sounds like a mistake to me and not a change for artistic reasons. anyone else notice this?

Nice catch. I missed that, even after listening to the album multiple times now. The lyric that has been truncated is "atishoo, atishoo", part of the "Ring a Ring o' Roses" nursery rhyme lyrics.

Just make sure you wipe everything down. :eek:

seems like a deliberate decision (and one i agree with) considering you still get the "a-" at the beginning.
rick emphasizes, especially in talking about Drum Street, that you have to pick the words/phrases that have the right quality for a track, and it's mostly on instinct (and in drum street's case, a whole highway ramble produced exactly four). if "tissue" felt right then but started grating later on, then cutting it in the final product is just how it goes.

what makes it feel like a mistake to me is precisely that hard "uh" sound. why include that tiny portion? it feels wrong to me now but maybe that's because i was included in the process with the first release of the track

I still haven't unboxed my Drift box from Italy. It arrived last week Tuesday, so I think now it's safe to unbox it. Maybe I'll wait some more days.

Just wipe the plastic down if you're worried. You should be fine if it's from last week.

It's believed to live on cardboard for up to 24 hours, and plastic for maximum 2-3 days, so you should be fine.

Finally I opened it! :) It's beautiful! Beyond a red wrap paper, the cardboard had cellotape with Universal logos, so it should be some leftover copy from Universal.

I’m celebrating, too, because mine arrived today. Now that my trip to Detroit looks to be off (fingers still crossed for Toronto, even if postponed), I decided to splurge on the box set. I had no idea it had sold out already! Many thanks to whomever mentioned Bull Moose (Bang, I think?) - they had one left. Whew.

Has anyone ripped the 24 bit audio from the Blu-ray tracks? I would love to have high quality versions of the video edits to go with the EP and Series versions Anyone care to share to help a fellow UW fan pass the time during lockdown?

Indeed, offering the tracks in highest quality. You can always convert them to lossless yourself.

(If your connection is too slow to grab the whole thing I'm sure someone can help you out)

That's correct, they're 24/48 WAVs, basically the highest quality. You can convert them to FLAC to save about half the disc space without any loss of quality.


You can also dither them down to 16-bit files, or encode to whatever quality MP3 or AAC that you want, with slight loss of quality.

I managed to snag a copy of the box set from Belgium. Unused download code, signed and numbered (I don't know if all copes were like this). Cost me €171 in total, but given how I now see copies for at least €200, so I think I got lucky-ish... well as lucky as I can be now that it's sold out.

Was just thinking what a blessing DRIFT would be if it'd been released this year instead of last. New Underworld and the attendant discussion would be a salve in this weird time.

I don't know - i just dug out Manchester Street Poem (which came out in between Drift) and it's like i just found another new Underworld Album. just so good.

After doing a more careful A-B comparison, I've changed my mind and think Give Me the Room is identical between the EP and album versions.
