I will say that it can't be their worst album, as it has at least two good tracks on it (unlike Push the Button)

ok wait...

are you guys on crazy pills or something?????

while - no, this isn't their BEST work ('surrender' in my opinion) but this certainly is UMPTEEN times better than "Push the Button"

and you know what? I'd even go as far as to say that the Salmon Dance is better than a good bulk of ptb

It sounds as if it is you who is on the pills...

i have been listening to a recording of the Brothers' show from 7/3/07 in Munich, which you can dl here:

A great setlist, including some tracks from the new album, which actually sound pretty decent mixed in with the classics!
1 - Intro : No Path to Follow
2 - Galvanize
3 - Burst Generator
4 - Do it Again / Get Yourself High mix...
5 - Hey Boy Hey Girl
6 - All Right Reserved
7 - Out of Control / It Doesn't Matter mix / Leftfield - Open Up mix...
8 - Templation/Star Guitar
9 - Surface to Air / Under the Influence / It Doesn't Matter
10 - Saturate
11 - Believe
12 - We are the Night
13 - The Golden Path
14 - EBW7 / Chemical Beats
15 - A Modern Midnight Conversation
16 - The Sunshine Underground

Yeah I think new tracks sometimes sound better with old tracks. Underworld and New Order livesets are other good examples of this.

too bad the recording is in wma format :(

and about "how bad" the new album is...

you're telling me that: "Saturate (EBW)" "All Rights Reversed" "Salmon Dance" "Burst Generator" "Harpoons" "The Pills Won't Help You Now" are all crap? (Do It Again... isn't bad per se - but that does get a bit too "justin timberlake-y" for me)

Push the Button is the ONLY chems album of theirs that I intentionally left off my iPod... I mean - there were only two tracks that I even somewhat dug on it -> Believe (at times, but it's still a bit too 'meh') & the last track (forget the title)

I'll give you Saturate and All Rights...

Hold Tight London is one of the finer moments in the CB catalog...the Boxer is good...

To quote someone else on the board...the Salmon Dance is an insult!

I've had the last verse of Battle Scars in my head the past week. That, Das Spiegel, and All Rights Reversed are all great tracks no matter what anyone says. The rest ranges from average to good. The Salmon Dance has great beats behind it, but they lyrics don't do much for me. When Fatlip says "Who's hungry?" I always think, "I could go for some salmon."

yea - the lyrics are pretty bad on 'the salmon dance' buuuuut

they're nearly not anywhere as bad as on "Galvinize"

b/c at least with Salmon Dance, it's supposed to be a bit of a silly track, you know?

Do a quick search for "Chemical Brothers Munich 2007" and you'll also find versions in mp3, if that's any more desireable. It's no flac or lossless format, but for an audience recording, it sounds pretty good.

FUCK 'SILLY', if 'silly' means shite like that. you have to wonder where their quality control's at sometimes...

lionjoe - it does have some nice tracks, and is better than 'push the button'; i like 'we are the night' for its sparkles and keep going back to 'the pills won't help you now' because it does everything right (for me) elsewhere, though, there's just so many weak tracks. but if sales keep them touring, then fine!
