Re: Strawberry Hotel - new album out 25th Oct
Interesting acoustic track - final version was mentioned to be rougher, scuffed-up and will probably have reverb. Would assume it's Karl, but hard to tell - the little bit of face briefly in top corner doesn't seem right.

European release is 11.15. That sucks.

Honest first reaction at 530am after seeing the email…. What did I just listen to?
We obviously know the tracks already released; I love Black Poppies and Denver Luna, and Colour Red is decent. However I’d have a very hard time listening to King of Haarlem or Ottavia again. Theyre conceptual for sure, but I found myself wanting them to be over. The first half of Lewis in particular… I was actually off put by the screaming. But loved the drums that kicked in. I’m so torn. Gene Pool was lovely. Techno Shink was decent. Stick Man Test is beautiful. I’m coming around to Hilo, but something about Karl’s tone feels off a bit. Growing on me tho. And I’m sure I’ll eat my words after a dozen listens. As usual :P |
