Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
So that's how they decide the setlist. Throw down all the cards and then pick out and line them up. I can make out Lenny Penne, Peach Tree, Jumbo, ALAF, Twist, Oich Oich, and Born Slippy.
Nice to see D back in the mix too. |

Return of the Scribble Sticks:
http://www.underworldlive.com/home/081120.html Love the high-contrast, random lines of the branches - these photos are practically Jackson Pollock all-over action paintings, which always looked like forests to me (indeed, Pollock had a cycle of totem and stick paintings) |

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Could you anyone tell me an e-mail address of contact a person responsible in charge underworldlive.com shop?
I bought digital contents and physical CDs at underworldlive.com shop on Nov. 19th. For the first few days, I could download the digital contents, but I couldn't get all the stuffs due to low speed of line, and then they disapeared from the list of my account page, so I can't get the rest of them now. Meanwhile, I haven't heared anything about the order status of physical CDs. I've just received e-mail from paypal.com showing I made payment via paypal.com. I'm totally in the dark whether underworldlive.com has accepted my order or not. I have already send e-mails two times to support@underworldlive.com following the procedure described in faq, but I've not received anything. Could you please tell me how to contact a shop person? |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
I've used mailto:sales@underworldlive.com with success. I've received a response within a day.
good luck, Jason |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
When I had a problem with a physical order, I contacted sales@underworldlive.com and the nice people there resolved it.
I've also had a problem with the digital shop when it was very new. Ant is responsible for that. I've contacted him and he added the missing downloads to my profile. |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Troy McClur and Jan,
Thank you so much for quick response! I will try to contact sales@underworldlive.com for physical CDs and And for digital contents. |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
i dont think strumpet can be "improved" on without the high probablity of simply "messing it up" ;)

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Could anyone PM me a short snippet of this song? I still aint heard it and have had problems logging on to the RTSR horde to download the one gig its on. I know its on the recent Brixton thing, but £10+ for one song is a bit Darren Pricey for my liking.

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Slightly OT but I would just like to say that I am really loving Karl's blog lately, it sort of hits the spot. Maybe one day I will see Karl descending the stairs at Liverpool Street to slide beneath the city! Can't help glancing over every morning as I climb the escalator just in case. Makes my journey a little more bearable each day.

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Oh, there's tons more than that. There are at least 2 dozen alone (some unnamed) from the webcasts over the past 4 years.
And who knows what they have in store for us on the upcoming Riverrun release. |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
there's an upcoming riverrun release?

I imagine it'll be announced at the next radio show, and released shortly thereafter. |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
My prediction is that the next RiverRun will be released on December 15th, Monday
though this may be completely off... I think it might be the case, given the past dates of releases and that the show will be on Wednesday next week... It would be VERY nice if the RR is released on December 8th, Monday :D |

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Bungalow with Stairs? Wasn't that a track title some time ago?
|
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Indeed it was! There is also the Rick's Bungalow mix of "King of Snake"
http://www.bigscreensatellite.co.uk/king.htm And LemonWorld, is in fact, in a bungalow house. :) Also found this tracklist from 2005 listing a whitelabel called "Bungalow1" - perhaps from the sources that became one of the RiverRuns? http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/oneworld...shtml?20051107 |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Bungalow with Stairs was also the name of a design company run by Rick in the mid-90's (I'll dig up the details and post them later), so maybe Rick is doing the mixing on this show.

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
karl i will never understand your glaring affinity for U2
|
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
its an age thing and growing up in the uk around the post punk period.u2 were once fresh, exciting, mentioned in the same breath with echo & the bunnymen, joy divison, teardrop explodes, comsat angels, the cure, the banshees.you could see these bands on small stages,in the back of pubs,at your uni.it was before things splintered off into tribal groupings of bands under banners like goth, indie, industrial etc etc, fantastic times.
u2 gigs rocked, they were passionate and they often sounded or played better than the other bands.up to and including "joshua tree" they were ace imo. its easy to look at u2 thru different eyes and see something very different and i'd never argue with anyone about why they don't like them but i think that for karl, and certainly myself, what they did back in the day will always be enough to keep the fan alive. |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
jose m
Spot on. I agree that U2 were the dog's danglies right up to Joshua Tree - after that they became too commercialised for my taste, as so many bands do after years of success in the biz. I still stick Boy, War and Joshua Tree on from time to time. They are still as good as they ever were. |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
I agree with jose m too.
U2 at the beginning had a sort-of innocent passion. One review I recall around the time of "October" described them as "peter pan-ish". Good to see the comsat angels name-checked in jose m's post - their track "Independance Day" is simply spine tingling, with a fabulous, other-wordly guitar sound:) |
