Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Hi all.
I cant seem to ever listen to the live broadcasts or the listen again. the controls just dont appear on the screen. I have had this issue for ages but never got to the bottom of it. I have rebuilt my PC a couple of times and still no joy. I have quicktime installed. Anyone got any ideas please :D aiii |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Agreed, I check UWLive.com over coffee every morning and this has been great reading -- it's one thing for fans to track down UW history, and something entirely different to hear the inside story from the band. Karl's perspective on the emotional bond between musician and instrument has also been really interesting.

Try opening that in quicktime. It's the latest show. If it works I can post the other direct links later. |

Karl should release or post some jam sessions. Just him and one of his Les Pauls getting down and dirty. That would be sweet. And if Rick plays too, let's hear some 6 string duets. Can you imagine 8 ball or Air Towel unplugged? Oh, yeah, more cowbell too. I got a fever....... |

If memory serves, I think they were about 2.5 inches in diameter.

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
I placed a big order on October 9th, and received it October 25th. I live in the United States, so I consider this pretty speedy. I also paid the flat £5 shipping, when it was more like £15 total.
Anyway, anyone who was put off by liveherenow shouldn't hesitate to order from underworldlive.com. They are handling orders very professionally. |

Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
i don't think it's possible to read it, given the size of the original.
But i'd bet there's a "NUXX" on there :p Dalek-fighting Karl - cool! I like his UW shirt, too! |

Today's pic and story
"I visited Robert Motherwell, but he was out for the afternoon Frank Stella was on the lips of an old grey geeza havin' his ears bent by two fierce daughters of the 60's" I Love Robert Motherwell and I love that Karl Loves Motherwell too. |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
The smell of hot Vimto, Camping in Criccieth, Canoeing at Black Rock Sands, Shopping in Porthmaddoc, Watching Logan's Run at the run-down cinema in Llandudno and dreaming of an imaginary future in Portmeirion.
As a teenager I was packed off each school holidays to stay with my musical uncle who'd 'retired from the biz' and moved to Snowdonia in the early 70s. Through him I met Cynthia Lennon and a very young Julian. He also introduced me to artists including Ed Povey whose work could be seen brightening up the walls of Bangor shops under that slate grey sky. I had my fortune told by the hippies living in their teepees just outside Bethesda. She said "You'll do something in music or art and whilst you'll be happy, you'll never make any money" while a well-worn Solid Air LP played on the record player. I remember this every time I visit Castell Deudraeth or The Village and wonder "was she simply making an educated guess?" Thanks for the wednesday morning memories Mr H :) |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Great memories!
I used to love Black Rock Sands, one of the only beaches I remember where you could drive a car straight on the beach! Used to stay on Shell Island camp site where the sea covered the road at high tide and one of my fave parts of the trip was visiting Portmerion and I was too young to know of The Prisoner! I visited again recently and stay at Snowdonia what a quality part of the world! Also Wales seems to have Castle's that are in amazing condition, well protected! |
Re: Underworldlive version 3.0 thread
Its a small world, I stayed at Shell Island for a few days last year, and the year before (amazing place, has it's own microclimate - pity it's usually a very soggy one), and we've had a few day trips to Porthmaddoc too. I've moved out from the suburban sprawl of Romford, and I'm now living 160 miles away in Worcester with my girlfriend. I had no idea when I moved here, but stumbling around Wikipedia I notice that there's an Underworld connection here too, it's where Karl was born.
